I was Mike's TAC officer at the academy. He was one of my squad leaders. I am deeply saddened by his death. Mike was a quiet man with a friendly smile. I will miss him and remember him always. Rest in peace Mike. Fight the good fight, finish the race.

Tonight before we put the children to bed, for some reason I decided to see how many officers were lost on Valentine's Day. I found your story.

I have been on those rides and have seen what you face on a daily basis. Someone needed you and without hesitation you answered the call. Your watch is now over but you will never be forgotten.

My sympathies to your family, friends, and colleagues honored to know you. May they always remember on this day your life and how much you gave to those you served. Rest in peace sir. May your memory be forever a blessing.
