Never forgotten~~Rest in peace. God Bless your family.
September 16, 2007
Just want you to know, I think of you daily, but I know you know that, since I talk to you almost daily too (I swear I know you hear me)! We all miss you incredibly. and i am sure we all have our up and down days - it's still so hard, I cannot believe it's been almost 6 months. I keep waiting for you to walk into a room, give us a big smile and your wonderful laugh! Your wife, continues to be one of the most amazing women I know - but you know that too, you always did. The kids too, you and Mel have done a wonderful job with them! I am sure you had no idea how large of a family you had, but it amazing - all of us who had ties to you, we all seem like family now.
Continue to watch over us, Seanie. We love you, we miss you! ShellyBean

I haven't spent a lot of time this year reading the memorials of the fallen officers, mainly because it saddens me that so many great men and women have fallen. My late fiance was a deputy killed in the line of duty in the state of Iowa. As a fallen officer survivour, my heart goes out to all those that knew and loved Officer Wissink, especially to his wife. Know that you are not alone in this journey that you walk and that Sean will not be forgotten here in Winnipeg.
Officer Wissink, thank you for helping to make this world a safer place. If you run into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a hug for all of us down here. It's been just over four years and we still miss him terribly.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne

Sean Wissink was a close personal friend of mine and his loss is felt throughout each and every day. Seems like there is always something to trigger a memory. A passing patrol car, a song on the radio, his picture in a frame, etc. There are very few men I hold in high regard but Sean is one. He was a friend who was there through thick and thin and never waivered on his committment to family and friendship. When others turned their backs, he refused and believed when others doubted. I had the honor of spending one of his last nights alive with him and his family and will never forget the hug good-bye and the I love you's that were said. Little did we know the end was near but I find peace in knowing nothing was left unsaid. I love you more than words can say and miss your smile and laugh. I will hold tight the many memories we shared together, until we meet again.
Love always and forever, Baby Girl

Sean, This is still hard to comprehend after three weeks. I still expect to see you sitting at the computer in the Tact Office or in front of your locker in the morning when everyone starts showing up at the office. You have influenced more people than you will ever know. You were a natural at everything you did, and it was evident when you pushed your knowledge onto others who were willing to learn from you. We will miss the atmosphere that you created, the laugh, and the bounds of knowledge that you shared with us. There are many officers that are better people and better officers because of you. You will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace DMPD 903, and thank you for all the good times and memories.

I don't know what to say Sean. You were an inspiration to me as well as countless other officers. You were one of the best officers I know and that doesn't even begin to touch how great of a person you were. You could always tell when I was down. You were the person who asked what you could do to help.
I ask why but know it is not for us to comprehend, but I know that God is by our side. We love you Sean. Until we meet again.

My heart truly goes out to the family Sean left behind. He was a real life hero and so are his wife and kids.
It takes a very special woman to be the wife of a committed officer like Sean. Thank you for all your sacrifices in the past and letting the rest of the city benefit from the many skills he used to protect us all.
Guys like Sean make it easy for wives to love them and stay just as committed to law enforcement as they are themselves.
As a wife of a law enforcement officer with two kids myself, my heart is breaking. I pray for you and the kids daily. May God give you peace.
I took my youngest(age 7), who was home sick the day of the funeral, up to the QT parking lot on Merle Hay and we saluted and waved flags in honor of Sean, my husband's fallen brother.
My deepest sympathy,

Sean, My brother. When I found your broken body. Upon discovering it was you trapped in that twisted piece of metal. I wanted to scream as loud as I could to anyone that would listen. I imagined being Christopher Reeve in that Superman movie. Flying into space, circling the earth faster than time itself, reversing time just 15 minutes, so I could warn you about the impending danger. It is a cops worst nightmare come true..To see a fallen brother, and nothing I could do to help you. I thought, somehow, someway, God would guide the rescue workers and medics to save your life. They tried with all their might, but it was not meant to be. You have been called home Sean, you served the people of our little piece of heaven on earth with heroism, and distinction. You make us all feel proud of what we do. Now, you will do the same in Gods kingdom. Rest in Peace..Sean, My Brother. May God embrace and comfort your beautiful family. Rest in Peace..Sean, My Brother.
