I never knew you while doing my internship at Jackson County SO in 1997, but know that you belonged to a great agency. I will ride in the Police Unity Tour in May 2008 in your honor so that you and your families sacrifice will never be forgotten. You paid the ultimate sacrifice for a great profession. I know your family misses you from the reflections and I will give it my all riding 250 miles in three days in your honor in May.
God bless your family and know I will have you as my angel during the ride.

Missing You, It's been a Year
one year ago
brings sadness to us

my brother is in heaven
far away from us

tears fall from heaven
and fall from our eyes

we miss having him here
right by our side.

the angels are all singing
and he is patroling.

the streets of gold
he is strolling.

On this 1 year anniversary of your EOW, we are thinking of you, your family, friends and co-workers.

By reading the reflections and tributes you are missed greatly by all of those who knew you, and I would bet, even those you have came in contact with during your service to the community. That is the true sign of a Hero.

Please watch over your family and those carrying on your legacy, as they continue to grieve and heal one day at a time. Thank you for your service, you will not be forgotten!

Soon the first anniversary of your EOW will arrive and my thughts will be with those that love and miss you dearly. I know that you have been in their thoughts every day and that they have cried enough tears to fill a small lake which they could sit next to and ponder over the wonderful memories they have of you. Continue to keep watch over all of your loved ones and those still out on patrol. You are a true hero and heroes never die. You have not been forgotten.

May god bless you and your family. I too lost a loved one(brother)Michael A. Davis Clayton Co Police Dept in the line of duty in 2005. It dosen't get any easier as the days go by but just know that since that tragic morning on October 18 Michael has been with me in my heart mind and soul. I would rather have the physical Michael but God saw fit to leave me with the spiritual Michael which is better than no Michael at all. God bless and keep your head(s) up.

"Missing You"
I miss your laughter, I miss your smile
I miss your kindness, all the while

I want to touch your face.
I want to touch your hand
I want you to open your blue eyes
and look me in the face.

Tell me it was all a dream and
you are really here.

dry all my tears and tell me
to forget all my fears.

No it is not a dream
you are really gone.

If I close my eyes real tight
and say a little prayer
I can almost see you standing there.

It has been almost a year now and yet it seems just like it was yesterday. The heart is still raw and full of pain. Our one year anniversary is coming up and I call it our as it is the day our family lost a part of our heart and soul. People say it gets better with time but I dont see where it really has. No matter how much I pray for strength or how many hours a day I spent crying, my brother still lays in the cematary.

Son, we missed you so much. I know you are at a better place but, the empty chair at Thanksgiving dinner was so hard to see. You was always right out there in the kitchen helping me with the dinner. Your sister and I are still working on the petition to get the armour piercing bullets off the market. I am so proud of you. We will always remember all the good times we had. I Love You.

The Bible tells me that "no greater love has a man than to lay down his life for his friends."

Never did that ring more true then in the case of Deputy Altman. In our duty as law enforcement officers we normally are helping and protecting strangers. On January 30th, Deputy Altman died protecting the wife of a fellow law enforcement officer.

I salute you. Your actions were truly heroic.
