As a wife a LEO I can not even begin to express the hurt I feel inside. This is pain no wife, mother, father, children, grandchildren or co-workers should have to ever feel. Anyone that pins on a badge is a hero. When faced with danger in the line duty paying the ultimate sacrifice is all in a day's work. Some gave all, all gave some, you my friend gave all. I will never forget your herotic sacrific. May God be with your family and comfort their needs. I enjoyed working with you and though your time in law enforcement was brief you will forever stay in our hearts.

Mike, you not only were a fellow officer but you were a close friend. I cannot describe the anger and disbelief I felt as the events of that night unfolded. I cannot describe the loss I feel but I know that you are in a better place now. Mike was humble, generous, and gave his all every day he came to work. He loved his job, his fellow officers and his wife and family without a second thought. The actions that you took that night were heroic and you paid for it with your life. For that brother, you will be remebered forever in our hearts and minds. I read a quote once that said "courage was being scared to death but having the will to carry on" Mike epitomized that quote as does every officer that has gone to a situation where the outcome may be grim. Our hearts and minds are forever with you and you family. Rest at ease brother we have the watch now.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Deputy Altman, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest
