Reflections for Sergeant Nicholas G. Sottile
Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

I check here often to see the reflections left on this page. I fight the tears every time. My husband worked with Nick in Tampa and to this day has been beaten down by his tragic death. He really thought alot of him! I wish for you that you may find some peace in knowing that he was so well respected in his short life. I say prayers for you and your family so very often. GOD bless you all!

January 12, 2009. Everyday I think of you, every time I call out my sons name, Wyatt Nicholas and he looks back at me and smiles with that mischievous look.
I think of the happy times we had together and the joy you brought to everyone around you but today is different. Today is two years since you were taken from us by an evil man.
Thinking of you always, your friend.

Happy Birthday Nick! Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. A couple of weeks ago I had a civil depo. on a THI case you and I worked in Sebring. The attorney out of Ft. Pierce, stated how well the report was written and asked how he could serve you for deposition. All I could do is cry. I told the attorney, how I wish he could, o how I wish he could. The case was won based on how well you wrote the report.
Happy Birthday my friend!!

Nick,
It has been a year since that tragic day. Not a day goes by that you are not thought of and missed. Your smile, laugh and stories are greatly missed. We know you are up in heaven keeping the streets safe and making God laugh. We miss you.

Nick,
Today January 12, 2008 will be (1) year,
We still cannot believe that you are not here.
Not one day has passed that we haven't thought of you and what your friendship meant to us. It will take us all a while to get use to it. Life will never go back to the way it use to be, we all have just learned new ways to do things. We lost one of the BEST that will never be replaced in our lives. Thank you for the memories that we cherish. We miss you.
Loving Memories
Your gentle face and patient smile
With sadness we recall
You had a kindly word for each
And died beloved by all
The voice is mute and stilled the heart
That loved us well and true,
Ah, bitter was the trial to part
From one so good as you.
You are not forgotten loved one
Nor will you ever be
As long as life and memory last
We will remember thee.
We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
As time goes by we miss you more,
Your loving smile, your gentle face,
No one can fill your vacant place.

We often wonder why our brothers and sisters are taken from us so early in life. I have come to understand that God has a bigger role for them to play in our lives. They become our Guardian Angels, protecting us until it's our time to join them. My heartfelt condolences to his Family, our extended Family.
