Sgt,
May God welcome you into his house where there is no more pain, suffering, worries or need for Law Enforcement Officers. May he send the power of the Holy Spirit to your family, friends, loved ones and fellow law Enforcement officers , so that they will know the true love of our lord and be comforted in that love. See, your job and our job on this earth is to protect his children with everything and all that we have, and you have faithfully fulfilled that mission. Now our lord has rewarded you with eternal peace and happiness.May God bless you and your family during these trying times.

The trooper stood and faced his God,
which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining
just as brightly as his brass.
Step forward now, trooper.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?
The trooper squared his shoulders and said,
No Lord. I guess I ain't.
Because those who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough...
and sometimes I've been violent
because the streets are awful tough.
But I never took a penny
that wasn't mine to keep...
though I worked a lot of overtime
when the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much.
But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
where the saints had often trod,
as the trooper waited quietly
for the judgement of his God.
"Step forward now, trooper.
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on heaven's streets.
You've done your time in hell."
May God comfort your family...

Nicky, I've known you every since I moved here 16 years ago. We meet on the softball field. I had the honor of playing on a team of law enforcement officers. We didn't win much but boy we had a great time. Softball came and went. A few years back I was envolved in a very bad accident with a very bad outcome. Two days later my door bell rang and there you were in full unform making sure I was more then just OK. The time you spent with me I truely believe changed my life and helped me go forward. Then softball came back to us, you started to play with my team when you could. Always a smile, always laughing. Sergeant Nicholas G. Sottile you have influenenced my life making me a better man, husband and father. Walk proud with God. Your friend Bill
