I am so sorry that this has happened to you and your children. I was in your shoes about a year ago. Your husband will be remembered for ever as a hero. He will also be able to live on through your children. We will never fully understand Gods plan, but we have to trust that He knows what He is doing. I will always remember.

Heath, I was shocked to hear the news of your passing. This community is a lesser place without you. I will never forget your readiness to assist me when I was a deputy at CCSO. You seemed to always have a positive attitude and find humor in just about anything. Thank you for all you have done, you will not be forgotten. You have moved on from this world and are now in heaven, rest in peace brother for we now have the watch.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the tragic and untimely death of Sgt. Hardin. I met this fine man while I was on active duty with the military police at Fort Bragg in the past year. He was a kind person, a professional officer and a gentlemanly public servant who liked to help other people.
His passing is a sad day for Hope Mills. This fine officer was a credit to the town, the department, the State and to the profession. I offer my prayers and condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. We are all an extended family, no matter what color our skin, or uniform, no matter what our patch or badge says, we are all brothers and sisters of the badge. Our law enforcement family in North Carolina has suffered a needless loss that will not be forgotten.
SGT. Hardin now patrols a beat in Heaven with St. Michael. We will miss you brother. Keep an eye on the rest of us from above. Rest easy brother, we have the watch from here.
Be safe out there brother and sister officers.

My husband has also been an officer for 9 yr, is married (too me) and we have 2 kids and he is also 35. He also shaves his head which must be a unspoken rule at every police department. I can't begin to say how sorry I am that Sergeant Hardin's life ended too soon. I will be praying for your family and friends that will be without you. Please continue your watch over your shift, I am sure they need it more now than ever.
