Reflections for Detective Troy Lamont Chesley, Sr.
I was very shocked to hear what happened to this young man. Troy and I went to junior high school together. He was a very smart and funny, yet quiet and shy. I listened to all the wonderful things that were said about him, and it was indeed true. He was always a gentleman and respectful. My prayer goes out to his entire family. I'll like to send a special prayer to his mom, kids, and his brother whom I also went to school with. God Bless and remember god doesn't make mistakes. angie (garrison junior high).

How truly sad it is for this offcer's children to lose their Father. I pray they will be comforted in the fact that he was a hero that impacted lives everyday and saved more than his share. When they look back I hope a calm peace will come over them and they feel his presence with them. I hope too that they will know that all of our prayers and thoughts are with them as their other family.
And I hope that the person who robbed them of their Father will have to look at them and see the pride they have for their Father and to know they are the children of a hero that put his life on the line for the greater good of mankind.
May God Bless and Keep you always and forever. May he watch over the family and brother and sister officers of this fine man.

Dear Troy,
I know that it had been a long time since we talked to one another but I just wanted to let you know that I will truly miss your friendship and that you will forever be in my heart. Now that it is too late to tell you good-bye I will always remember your beautiful smile and that you told me to never give up. May you rest n peace and know that everything will be alright on this side.

Few people in this world possess the courage to put their lives on the line for others. It is through the bravery of officers like Detective Lamont that we enjoy the safety and security that allows us to live another day.
I ask that all of us who wear a badge pause a moment to honor the memory of a fallen brother and a hero.
"... good night sweet prince and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Respectfully,

I am so sorry for your lost. My husband Officer Stanley C. Reaves was a former Baltimore City Police Officer and became a Norfolk Police Officer in March 2005. He was killed in the line of duty in Oct. 2005. He also graduated from Baltimore City College with Troy in 1990. I never knew Troy but I am sure he was wonderful man. Find peace in knowing that he is resting with Jesus.

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and part of america died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect will be buried at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand in court with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation wont fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street and he stands at each rookies side.
He answered the call
of himself gave his all
AND A PART OF AMERICA DIED.
