Reflections for Detective Troy Lamont Chesley, Sr.

Troy,

Well, these last couple of weeks have been difficult for us all. We speak your name daily and promise to keep your memory alive. Knowing that we won't be able to share so many things with you is hard. We look at your picture and it seems as if you looking right back at us. We know that you are watching over us but it's difficult to explain to the children that Uncle Troy is not here with us physically. We will continue to keep you and the family close to our hearts. Until next time.

Your Friend and Sister

Troy I sit here thinking about when were in miss birch's class(7th grade) you were so skinny, i use to pick with you all the time. You would sit there with your bashful smile. Over the years I've often thought about you, dubie, marcia, and wonderered how everyone was. Although I hadn't talked to you in years, I think about how sometimes we would all walk home from school,(down garrison blvd) just laughing about nothing with no cares in the world. I'm Truly glad I had the chance to meet you and to also see that you were a positive person who made something out of himself. God bless you TROY. THANK YOU FOR SERVING AND PROTECTING US. YOU WERE A STAND UP GUY.

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, an uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law breakers, and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences with the devil that the policeman's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of men.

-Rest in Peace Brother. We have the watch...

Troy,

Today was not the best of days but we're making it. Part of me feels empty to know that the unthinkable is true. Reality is really starting to set in. Please know that you will forever be with us. We couldn't be with you that night and watch your back but we will do our best to watch over the family. Rest easy my brother. Until next time.

Troy,
Where do I begin? We were best friends as long as I can remember. My heart is very heavy right now! I can't believe that you're gone. I remember growing up that everyone thought that you and I were brothers instead of best friends. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about all of the good times we had growing up and both becoming Police Officers. I promise you that I will take care of your children because they belong to me now!You will never be forgotten!! Until we meet again. Love Ya!!!!

Troy,

I can't began to explain how your loss has made us all feel. Each day we talk about you and the good times we shared with you. Everytime we share a conversation someone reflects on your memory by saying "Troy would say ....." This is so hard to deal with and accept, but knowing that you are watching over us has a calmimg affect. Rest assured that your three sons and two daughters will never have a chance to forget you because we will always be there to remind them of the hero that you are. Your mother is now my second mother-in-law, because you are my husbands brother from another mother as he always say. Take this time to rest for your job here is complete but know that we are all missing you.

Until we meet again
