I was honored to sit at the service in Ocean Grove for you and the other two police officers from NJ that were taken last year. Today's ceremony was moving and although words can't explain how much of a hero you are, these come close:
"Did you ever know that you're my hero
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings"
Thank You for everything

Tye it took me a while to finally leave a reflection, but I'm here now. It's just so hard to know that your not here anymore.I was looking at our pictures last night of when we were little and thinking of the many memeories we have together and it hurts. I haven't adjusted well to this tragedy. You and I were one of a kind. Kids at heart and had so much in common. The family used to laugh at me, but was very humorous about knowing how we read and collected comic books and made sure we went to the theaters to see super hero movies. I'll never forget Superman returns was the last movie we went to see together and we planned Ghost rider right after.God had other plans and we never made it to see that movie together, but I went anyway in rememberance to you.I had a very serious talk with your mom letting her know how much I love you.I still have things that you gave me that I'm never throwing away. I'm going to hold on to you forever Tye. You have your place next to GOD and hopefully one day I will get to see you again. And thanks for instilling in me the determination to beat Superman returns game that you supposed to done for me.It took me a while, but the whole time I was thinking of you and remember I've always said I wasn't good at those types of games. My Giants beat your cowboys too and we won the superbowl this past year.GOD bless you Tye and continue to watch over your entire family.Superman and Wolverine, that's our little secret.

Ty I have known you for all my life. I was so proud of you when you became a cop. Your dream will continue to live on in my heart and every time I see a cop I alsways think of you because you made a difference in my heart. Even though it was a short time of duty. This city knew who you were and respect you not only as a cop but a person. I just want you to know that you mean the word to me and even though you are not here in our lives your legacy lives on in my heart. I always respect you like a big cousin. Even though we were not as close as cousins should be just being in your presents watching your little sister in the summer time made me fill close to you. I remember the times we use go to church together and I watch you in the choir singing with your sister and the other members those was the happy days. Although you are gone from us so soon and we will never no why. I thank God for letting you in my life for those years and when I see you again in heaven I going to squeeze you so hard that you will never be able to get away from me again. May you soul rest in peace and I will see you in heaven when God open up those gates to his heaven.

The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
