I would like to thank all of you for the kind messages. You should know that Calvin was a very good person, very dedicated to his job, and was a really happy newly wed. MY husband, Wayne Hartsfield retired from the Highway Patrol in 84, so this is really a bad time for us. So thanks for all of the reflections.

Family and fellow officers of Trooper JENKS, one of the most difficult parts of this Vocation we call Law Enforcement is bidding farewell to our fellow Brothers and Sisters in blue. This heroic sacrifice strengthens our resolve to strive harder to get the job done and bring to justice those who threaten our thin line between Peace and lawlessness. REST IN PEACE BROTHER.

Constable Tim SMITH

Trooper Jenks, It deeply saddens me to hear of your sacriface. I, as well as every available officer and the infamous "Black & Tans" THP cars lined I-40 in effort to spot the suspect vehicle heaeded into Nashville. We all feel great loss when we lose a brother in the line of duty. I have prayed for you and your family that God may comfort your survivors and bring the departed to justice. The suspects were taken into custody this morning by the FBI and Metro Nashville SWAT. May judicial punishment be swift and just. God bless you and your family and I will proudly attend your funeral to show my appreciation and respect. I have no doubt Trooper John Mann greeted you at Heaven's Gate. Although we never met, I am proud to speak your name. Thank you my brother.
