To the Family,Friends and co-workers of Trooper Jenks
God be with you during this time. We lost our officer, one year ago on January 4. It is a very hard time, and our hearts go out to you. Remember that Trooper Jenks died doing his job, and protecting his community, and that is why he was in law enforcement. God will take care of him now,and his beat is a much better place. Your memories will help to get you thru this difficult time, don't be afraid to talk about him, it will make it easier. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family!

To The family of Trooper Calvin W. Jenks I extend my sympathies to you and may you be blessed always.
I learned of Trooper Jenks death through our newspaper in Daytona Beach, Florida and thought he's so young. It reminded me of my children and that I would like to hold them closer. Please take care of each other.
Love and Blessings,

The Final Inspection
The policeman stood and faced his God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as brightly as his brass
"Stepforward now policeman
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry badges
Can't always be a saint.
i've had to work most Sundays
And at times my talk was rough
And sometimes I've been violent
Because the streets are alfully tough.
But I never took a penny
That wasn't mind to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times i shook with fear
And sometimes, God forgive me
I've wept unmanly tears
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear
If you've a place for me here Lord
It needn't be so grand
I never expected or needed much
But if you don't...I'll understand
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the policeman waited quietly
For the judgment of his God
"Step forward now, policeman
You've borne your burdens well
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets
You've done your time in hell."
God bless Trooper Jenks' family and the THP family. I know what they must be feeling, having just went to KSP Trooper Jonathan Leonard's funeral. Another good man is in God's loving arms.

For the loved ones and Brothers of Trooper Jenks:
You,your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten .
I met Trooper Jenks while we both were waiting to testify in Court in Marshall Co.some months ago.
While talking with him and others there I became aware of,(words are hard to express )his qualities and professionalism with which he served the public with dedication and integrity.
Having steered many young persons to Public Safety/Law enforcement I feel your loss and offer you my thoughts and prayers .
God Bless

As I sit here and read the reflections left for you I specifically look for the ones left by the people who personally knew you. It upsets me terribly when I read what a truly good man you were. One of your fellow Troopers wrote that you were one of the best men that he knew. This is such a same that people who know nothing about the person you are can take your life without hesitaion. I wish that I could have met you and I really wish that I could have been there with you before those shots were fired. To your wife, family, and fellow Troopers, I am truely sorry and saddend by this. All of you will be in my thoughts. Calvin, no one will ever hurt you again. Rest in peace.

May God comfort your family and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. You were willing to place yourself in harms way to protect people you did not even know. This speaks volumes of the kind of man and the kind of Trooper that you were. Rest in peace my brother.
