Reflections for Trooper Calvin Wayne Jenks
My Dearest Family and Friends
Somethings I'd like to say but first of all to let you know that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven where I dwell with Our Lord above. where there's no more tears or sadness just eternal Love. Please don't be unhappy because I'm out of sight, remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and Night.
The Day I had to leave you when my Life on earth was through God picked me up and hugged me and He said I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, You were missed while you were gone. As for your Dearest Family they'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly as part of my big plan. There's so much we have to do to help our Moral Man.
Then God gave me a list of things that He wished for me to do, and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you.
I'll be beside you everyday and through out the years, And when your sad. I'm standing there to wipe away your tears.
When You lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight God and I are close you in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on Earth and all the loving years, because your only human they are bound to bring you tears.
Please don't be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned, But if I were to tell you You wouldn't understand. One thing is for certain, though my life on Earth is over I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.
To My many Friends, Trust God knows what is best.I'm still not far away from you I'm just beyond the crest.
So, If you can help somebody who is in sorrow or in pain, then you can say to God at night my day was not in vain.
And now I am contented that with my life. it was worth while,Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
If you meet somebody who is down and feeling low just lend a hand and pick him up as on your way you go.
When Your walking down the street and you've got me on your mind just know I'm walking in your footstep only a half a step behind.
And if you feel a gentle breeze or wind upon your face that's me just giving you a great big hug or just a soft embrace.
I will always love you from the land way up above We'll be in touch again soon
PS God sends his Love.

Miss you today just like all the days that have passes since you were taken from this earth. I will always keep you in my prayers and one day will rejoice in seeing you again in heaven. I smile allot when I think of all the good times we had when you were here, it helps to celebrate the good and not dwell on your absence. Again, we love you and miss you but have comfort knowing you are looking down on us each and every day. God bless

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I am sorry that you, your family, and the THP did not get the full measure of justice that was merited.
Rest In Peace

In a couple of hours, they will be lining up for the "sea of blue" in your honor. We will never forget the sacrifice you made. I never had the privilege of meeting you, but I often drive by that spot and think of you. Your friends and family are in our prayers.

Gosh Calvin, it has been over two years and today is no easier than the first day. You are missed so much by so many people. You were truly loved by many. I have thought of you so many times, almost daily, since that day and again no day is any easier. Continue to watch over us all and especially your family as I can only imagine the pain they feel when the rest of us hurt as bad as we do. You did an awesome job here on earth and I know that you are doing an awesome job in heaven. Take care buddy and we love you and miss you.

My heart hurts today thinking of you! I miss you so much. Tha reality of it all is still so new to me. Please forgive me. I am grieving for your absence and most of all, I am grieving for your family which is something I have not allowed myself to do until now. I feel comfort in knowing that you are in a way better place and that gives me some peace. But, we're still here w/o you and it just doesn't seem fair. If only we could just go back in time. Wouldn't life be so much easier? Calvin, you are so loved and the memory of you will never be forgotten. They say that time heals the pain from losing someone that you love, but I don't believe that it does. It hasn't for me in other situations and I can't imagine that it gets any easier for your family as the days go by. I hope that it does for their sake and if so, they are stronger than me. Please continue to watch over each of us Calvin and touch us in a way that we may have some peace. Its not pretty down here and we need all of you angels up there to guide us each and every day.
Last night I was thinking of you, just taking a quite moment to myself and gazing into the star-lit sky. And a shooting star fell from the Heavens. I know that it was you! Just saying hello! You are truly loved sweetheart and your family will be in my thoughts today.
Hugs and kisses

There are no words that can describe the loss that I felt for myself, and even more more Calvins family, the day I heard of the tragic event that had taken place.
Before that sad day, it had been quite a while since I had seen or spoken to Calvin. I wanted to blame myself for having let our friendship deminish over the years, but I decided that dwelling over that wasn't going to make things any better.
I will forever remember that sweet, shy, and innocent way about Calvin. In all the years that Calvin and I knew one another, he remained the same. Just sweet little Calvin. He, like his brother Andy, didn't say a whole lot but rest assured, if you took a glance in his direction, he was smiling that smile and just taking it all in. Not saying a word. The Jenks Way!!!
There are no words that can even begin to describe what a wondeful person this man was. What a Hero! We love you and miss you and I feel so blessed to have had the time with you that I did. Forever in my thoughts, prayers, and memories. Megan Gregory-Spivey

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Trooper Jenks... I did not know you, but thank you. May you and your wife and family know that I am eternaly grateful for the service you offered to the State of Tennessee. As the father of a young son, I am proud to know that there are people like you out there. People that want to be law enforcement officers. I chose a different profession to earn my living. But know my heart, and my respect is with you all. I hope my son can be as brave.

Dear Calvin,
Year two without you. May God's grace be upon all those who are missing you and may our Lord Jesus heal their broken hearts.
According to these reflections, you knew Jesus personally and that
blesses me greatly as I know I will meet you face to face one day
and be able to thank you for your sacrifice. There is none greater than
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We don't get to Heaven based on
what we do,but what He did for us!! AMEN! Thank you for your fine
example to those that worked with you and knew you. There is now a
huge void that cannot be filled, but as you are remembered, thoughts will
turn to your exemplary life and we will be filled with pride and respect
and love for the man you became. You were a wonderful testimony to
the Lord you served. God be with all those who mourn and may His
promises lift all those with heavy hearts for many years to come.

My thoughts are with all of your loved ones on this day. I know that the first thought when they wake each morning is of you and the last thought before they drift off to sleep at night is of you. You are forever in their hearts. Keep watch over all of your loved ones and wrap your wings around them and help them with their grief. You are a true hero and have not been forgotten.
