Words can not say enough about an Officer that is killed in the line of duty. They put their lives in harms way everyday when they put on a uniform and get into that patrol car. Why they do this, the ordinary citizen will never know. They do it for many reasons. One reason is why Trooper Jenks did. To make a difference, help people in the time of need and locking up those that needed it to protect all of us. My Grandfather died before I was born but a lot of people knew him and still do remember him for he was a great Trooper, Just like Trooper Jenks. Trooper Jenks will always be remembered, for he did make a difference in what he did as a THP officer.

When we place the badge upon our chest we pray nothing will happen during our shift to keep us from going home to family and friends. But when it does it was the call of the lord. A fallen hero. Our prays go out to family, fiends and co-workers during this time. You are in a better place now. NO CRIME, NO SADNESS. ALL ARE HAPPY.
GOD BLESS YOU.

Rest In Peace brother.

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and part of america died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect will be buried at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand in court with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation wont fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street and he stands at each rookies side.
He answered the call
of himself gave his all
AND A PART OF AMERICA DIED.

Rest in Peace Brother

Trooper Jenks, thank you for your courageous service. I'm terribly sorry that you left us while still so young. I'm just an "average joe" citizen, but I vow that you'll not be forgotten. My prayers (and tears) are with your family, friends, and Police brothers and sisters. I wish safety for all our brave Officers. God Bless.

As I read the comments posted for this fallen brother, an overwhelming feeling races through my body, as I realize no other profression can endue so much pain and still have so much compassion and words of comfort. Law enforcement officers (City, County, State, Federal or Elected) are truly one family with the same mission statement and these reflections simply reveal this worldwide family. We have truly lost a young hard working trooper as a result of such a sensless cowardess act. May GOD be with the Jenks family and all members of THP.
