My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and coworkers. Everytime I hear about a fallen officer, my heart breaks. I lost a friend in the line of duty. I hope that your family and THP find strength in each other to get through these hard times. We all feel the pain of your loss and will be thinking of you in the days to come.

We were truly blessed when my niece Sarah Beth brought Calvin into our family. He was an outstanding young man and will always be our hero.

When the news of Calvin's death reached us, I didn't know if we would have the strength to make it through these days. Although our hearts are truly broken, I can't give enough thanks to everyone who has reached out to our family. I have been truly amazed at the extent of the support that has been given by the THP and the rest of the law enforcement community.

Reading through these messages has provided comfort and I am printing every message to save for Sarah Beth. I'm sure that, when she is ready, these words will also have meaning to her.

It's hard to think of good things that could result from the loss of Calvin, but I know that I will never again take for granted the work of any law enforcement officer and I'm sure many others will share my sentiment. Thanks to all who serve to make us safe.

The day your watch ended reminded me of my husband, that was also killed in the line of duty he also was 24 at the end of his watch. God has his plan for each of us even at a young age. To your wife and family know that you have a huge family behind you "Brothers in Blue" and that our prayers and thoughts are with you. May you Calvin keep the beat in heaven and watch over us here on earth. Thank you for your service as a THP officer.

Looking at your picture all I can think is how much you look like one of my officers. Thank you for giving your life to protect the people of the state of TN. In a perfect world you would've never faced the dangers that took your life. I heard that they caught the guys responsible for your murder. Thank God TN is well known for making sure people like that get the punishment they deserve. Rest in Peace, Trooper Jenks.
