To the family of Trooper Jenks:
Our Family Chain
We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly.
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
God bless you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Calvin,
It has almost been two weeks since you left us. Today is no easier than that day. It hurts so bad to know that you were taken from us the cowardly way. Nothing was solved by that hideous act. Knowing the way I feel, as well as may others around town, I can only imagine how lost Sarah and the rest of your family are. As I look out over the treetops this morning, I know where you are and the sun is shining beautifully.
Calvin, you would have been astounded at the respect that was given to you at your service. It was absolutely beautiful. There were people from everywhere and they lined the streets as you went by. You would be so proud of the citizens of Tennessee, especially Maury County and the turnout of law enforcement officers just gave one chills. If only citizens could become one just like the law enforcement do, we would all be so much better off.
Well, I am going to go for now but please watch over us all as you continue your journey and hard work in heaven.

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me
If tomorrow starts without me
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for
So much left yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all that we shared
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss some tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates
I felt so much at home,
When God looked down and smiled at me
From His great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow
But today will always last,
and since each day is the same way
There's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me
don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me
I'm right here, in your heart.

Being from a small down has it's many downfalls, but being in the procession that took place at your funeral makes you proud to call Columbia, home. You were a hero that day and will always be remembered as a hero giving the ultimate sacrifice. To us you were also the little brother of a great friend, and it was pleasure knowing you and laughing with you. Your family and wife remain in our thoughts.

Sara Beth,
Noone should have to go through the pain you and the rest of Trooper Jenks family are feeling right now. I didnt have the opportunity to meet your husband but my husband said he was a very good man and a good officer . I know from school you are a good person and you didn't deserve to go through this. Always remember you married into a very elite family and all your husbands' law enforcement family will always be here for you. God bless you, your family, and the memory of Trooper Calvin Jenks.

To the wife and family of Trooper Jenks I've kept you all in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to. I know there is nothing I can do to take away the pain because I know this sorrow all to well. I've found some comfort in talking to other fallen officers wives and through the support of the T.H.P., please just remember we are always there. Calvin, Todd and John Robert are now swapping stories with eachother and watching down on all of our families and their brothers of the T.H.P. We've been family through God and the badge. Unfortunately we are now family through the Thin Blue Line.
To Trooper Calvin Jenks you've joined the ranks on the Thin Blue Line with many that have gone before you. Thank you for all that you've done and will continue to do from above. It is how this man lived not how he died that made him a hero. You are a true HERO and will never be forgotten.

It still does not seem real that you have left us. My heart became torn as I heard the tragic news of that early morning. You died a hero, but to you, just doing what you loved. You were one of the most humble and servant oriented people I have ever known. But you were so much more than that: a loving, cherished husband, a son, a brother and a beloved friend of so many. I will carry your memory with me forever. Thank You for your service ,your dedication, and the sacrifice that you made to make this a better place for us all. "GREATER LOVE HAS NO ONE THAN THIS, THAN TO LAY DOWN ONE'S LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS" JOHN 15:13. Your family weighs heavily on my heart and I will continue to pray for them. You have fought the good fight, now rest in peace in the kingdom we all long for.
