Rest in Peace Trooper Jenks. Like many of the Airmen that I have had under my command in the past twelve years you were taken before your time and your sacrifice will never be forgoten. Thanks for making my home state and family there safer. God Bless You and may he keep you and your family close to him now and forever.

My condolances for the family and L.E. brothers of Trooper Jenks. I know and understand your pain, last May we lost a very close friend and brother Officer to gunfire. I know the pain and sadness firsthand. It is very hard, to this day, I still think about my former partner on a daily basis. I found this website to be very theraputic, it was really comforting to hear others around the country, who never even met Jason, to offer comfort through a kind word, or emotion.
I will pray for Calvin's family and his brother troopers. Please rest easy, knowing that he will watch over you from above. Next time a situation gets out of control and could have gone very wrong, just remember that just maybe, Calvin was resting on your shoulder, and once again watching your backs. God Bless

I JUST WANTED TO SAY I AM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS,I KNOW YOU HAVE HEARD THIS BUT I KNOW WHEN THINGS HAPPEN IN OUR LIVES THAT WE DON'T UNDERSTAND AND WE HAVE GREAT LOSSES THAT GOD IS THERE AND IF YOU WILL HANG ONTO HIS HAND YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAPPENED BUT YOU WILL EVENTUALLY RECIEVE PEACE. I HAVE TWO SONS ONE IS A DISPATCHER AT 22 AND THE OTHER IS 21 MY OLDEST WANTS TO BECOME AN OFFICER AND EVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY SCARY IT IS PEOPLE LIKE TROOPER JENKS WHO MAKE ME VERY PROUD TO BE A MOTHER. Calvin, Troopers Lt. Bill Ray, Sgt. Carl Jones, Trooper Keith Ray and I were in the duck blind on Reelfoot Lake yesterday and you were at the top of our conversation. You were taken way too early from your family, friends and the THP. We all feel pain for those close to you and wish them well in your absence. May God bless them and keep them. I will think of you during every hunting/fishing trip from now on. Thank you for your duty to the fine state of Tennessee.

To the Wife of Calvin Jenks:
Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences for your recent loss of your husband. I, too, am a THP wife and endure the same fears everyday. But, my Trooper is my hero and I admire him so much for his continued bravery and love of his job. My husband attended officer survival school with Trooper Jenks last fall. He has always spoken highly of him and was devastated to hear the news of his passing.
You and Trooper Jenks' family remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.
Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.
Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.
Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.
We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.
The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
As we recall in comfort
You await us there.
