Young Bryan gave his life to the City and County of San Francisco...Many of whom find only fault with our Department and indeed the Police in general...But, I can only believe that due to his dedication to duty...He helped to remove a violent and dangerous person from our city streets...someone who should not have been walking freely around the City committing burglaries and intimidating anyone who questioned his wrongdoing... I do believe that he is in a better place. We must believe. Sayonara Bryan-San, from Mama Hicks...

I've often thought of Bryan after losing touch with him in high school. I missed out class reunion and really the only friend that I lost touch with from high school that I wish I had a chance to reconnect with was Bryan. "Benny" was the nickname that we gave him and he'll know what it means; was the kindest, hardest working and there wasn't anyone in high school who could say a single bad thing about him. Bryan I never got the chance to say thank you for helping me in highschool during out classes together. I only heard your name this morning on the radio and thought that it was a fluke or it was someone by another name. Another lesson I will have learned from you is to try and say thank you when I get a chance, because we will never know when that last chance will be. You were truly a better friend to me than I was to you and I pray that your family and your wife my best wishes and heartfelt gratitude for helping you become the man you are...

To the men and women of the San Francisco Police Department, may you all find strengh and peace knowing that that the loss of your brother in blue is a major loss to the entire law enforcement family.

To the family and friends of Ofc Tuvera, cherish the memories and good times spent with Bryan. It will be these moments that will continue to keep his legacy alive. Share his memory with strangers and be ever so proud of his accomplishments.

To Ofc Tuvera's wife, my heart aches for you. Like you. my husband and I work at the same department. Saddness hit me when I heard of the loss of a fellow brother in blue...fear hit me when I heard his wife was also a police officer working the same department. May you find strength among the memories, peace among the prayers, and love among the angels. You will always have the ultimate back-up from above.

"Blessed are the peacekeepers...Bryan is a son of God."

It's good to know that Officer Bryan Tuvera did not die in vain. In a world that is so troubled with crime and death he was only doing what he knew best and that was to serve and protect.. But now he's an Angel and at home with God... He's really not gone he will always be with you Salina... my thoughts and prayers are with you

Bryan and family,

I never knew Officer Tuvera, but I wish I had. He sounds like a true gentleman and gives the SFPD a good name. The citizens of SF should be proud they have officers like Bryan. May he rest in peace and God bless him and his family.

I knew Bryan from grade school all the way thru high school. He was an awesome guy who's life was taken much too soon. Though I hadn't spoken to Bryan in almost 10 years, he was someone I always remembered. He had this soft, quiet confidence that let you know he was going to be something special one day. I never imagined that this would be his fate, but I suppose everything happens for a reason. Bryan, you will always be remembered by everyone who ever knew you... that's just the kind of guy you were. I always say policemen are a different breed of people because they are willing to do what most of us would never think of doing... sacrificing their life to protect another. Bryan died honoring an oath he made & his courage & integrity will never be forgotten. It won't be too long before my baby brother will be walking the streets to serve & protect. I hope he will have the strength & courage that you had to help him get through each day. I am so sorry for the two wonderful men the Tuvera family has lost. Bryan, you, your wife, your family & SFPD comrades will all be in my prayers. You are a true hero old friend... all those comic book heroes you love so much ain't got nothing on you!

Rest in Peace Officer Bryan Tuvera... may your star shine brightly on all those mourning your loss.

I find it funny how two lives can parallel each other so closely, yet never cross. Bryan and I attended the same high school, graduated in the same year, and even got hired by our respective agencies in the same year. However, after all this time, the only thing I ever knew about him was his name.

Bryan, I regret that our paths never crossed closer than they did. From everything your friends, family, and co-workers have said about you since your tragic passing, it would have been an honor and a privilege to have called you a friend. Thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice while trying to make this world a better place to live in. You will forever be missed by your peers and will always be remembered as one of the bravest Warriors to have ever come out of South San Francisco High School. Rest in peace.

SF Police Officer Isaac Espinoza was my nephew. He was shot and kill April 10, 2004, a day before Easter. On that day a little bit of me was killed with him for I too wear the Star of Law Enforcement. Not only did I lose my nephew I lost my bother. That for me was a double hit. You are a Law Enforcement family and I understand your pain, however no one can take your pain away but time. It does get better, a little at a time. When something like this happens to a fellow Officer, especailly when it happens in your own city, I take steps backwards, falling into a sadness I have to pull myself out of....but then I get better and come back to who I am......a little at a time, as time goes on.

May God Bless Your husband, son, friend. Police Officer Bryan Tuvera is an Angle in blue now looking down on you, pretecting you.

I've known Bryan and the Tuvera family for most of my life. Tracee and I danced together at Schumachers in South City. The Bryan I remember was quiet and shy, gentle and sweet, funny and smart. He tagged along to every dance compeition and performace we ever had - just like his dad. Bryan was a friend and a kind soul. Never could a mean word be said about Bryan. As the years went on I only stayed in touch with Tracee but I always asked how Bryan was. I was proud of him for finishing the Academy and finding a position in such a well-respected profession. I was elated when I found out he was getting married - he had finally found that love and balance that we all search for in life. I hold a tremendous amount of gratitude in my heart for the police officers who serve this nation. Bryan will be missed every day and those who continue on must continue the kind of service and protection Bryan provided for four and a half years. Rest in peace with you dad...and I'm sure mine is with you, too.

To Bryan's Widow and the Tuvera Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God grant you the comfort and peace that will sustain you in the days to come. I hear he was a great officer and I am sure he will be greatly missed. My husband worked with him and he had good things to say. Such a loss of a young life. God bless!

My heart just cracked open when I saw Bryan's photo on television
Christmas Day. I am so very sad for his wife Salina, his mother Sandy, and
sister Tracee, and so very sorry his life was cut short in such a senseless
way. I was his first grade teacher, and his second grade teacher as well; I
had him in class with Bill Toomey, Angela Wilkin and some other great
kids--(including his sister Tracee a year later).
My sister said, "What is there about this student that caused you to
remember him so well, and so fondly out of the thousands you've taught?"
I tried to describe Bryan for her - the crooked grin and quick wit, his
kindness and gentleness, his quiet intelligence, and the considered way he
had of always thinking things through until they made sense to him. I
admired him as a six year old. And I admire him for the way he lived his
life.
