Hi Dan!
I was never blessed with the honor of meeting you in person, but boy Oh boy have I heard a ton of great stories from Richie!
Alot has happened since you've been gone. Richie is a step-dad to my 2 older kids, (James and Aubriana), and he is also a father to our 2 Kids together, (Daniel and Genevieve). Daniel was named after you and I can see at age 7 he is a a perfect blend of you and his dad! Genevieve was born in 2011 and has rocked richies world completely! Seeing him with her would melt your heart! Richie has come a long way and it's still tough to talk about you at times, but he finds a way to laugh about how goofy you 2 were together and seeing his smile is a reflection of all the good times you both shared .
I just wanted to share Richie's updates and let you know you are not forgotten.

This breaks my heart. I knew Danny's parents before Danny was born. So I saw him grow up and even worked with him at Longs before he became a police officer. He was also a security guard at Palomar college when I went back to school. After he became a police officer he used to walk into Longs and yell out my name real loud. He loved embarrassing me! LOL I remember when one of my managers walked up to me and told me that the police officer who got shot was someone we worked with before. I just said "oh no, not Danny" and sunk to the floor and cried. I couldn't imagine what his parents were going through. Now, I see his name up on a huge memorial sign on highway 5 and think how much he would love that! Way to young to die, but I know that he is living it up in heaven with all his practical jokes!

Hi Danny... Your 8th anniversary has come and gone... so many people still honoring you, missing you... saw your story on the news tonight and it made me so sad... My heart is heavy tonight, 2 New York police officers murdered today... every time an officer is killed I think about you and Tony and it really angers me...I'm really worried about all your brothers and sisters in blue...it just isn't safe out there... I miss you Danny, everyone does... We will never forget.... ever...

Was just thinking of you while out on patrol. Once again the weather here is getting cold and it will be snowing soon. Driving in the snow is not as fun as you would think. My trip to California was awesome. Oceanside has changed big time. I almost lost it when i saw your name on the Interstate. I am glad they put your name up though so everyone can see it and remember you. I know your watching all of us from Heaven but I still like to post on here. I miss you brother.

Hi Danny.... saw your dad and brother recently.... his broken heart cannot be hidden and seeing it broke mine all over again... you are so missed, by so many... I visit your marker in the old cemetery often... it is there that you and I have some special moments remembering some of the things we once shared... of course I do all the talking, but I know you are listening...it was such an honor to work with you, and even more so to be your friend...
