My prayers go out to Trooper Leonard's family, friends, and co-workers. I never knew Trooper Leonard very well, but remember him from when I worked at the Pike County Detention Center. I always admired the Troopers when they would come into the jail. They walked tall and proud. I thought how awesome it would be to be part of KSP. I moved back to my home state of North Dakota and am now a deputy in Bowman County. I will always remeber the KSP and look up to them with high respects. God Bless you all!

I used to live close to Morehead, KY, and we had a lot of friends from Post 8 there. It amazes me how our law enforcement there didn't only do their job well to protect us, they were friends to everyone as well. I never knew or ever saw Leonard before, but there is not a doubt in my mind that if he was w/ KSP he done his duty well. They all do. THANK YOU Leonard for what you did for the people around you. I salute you. We are proud of you. Rest in peace.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with the Leonard family. My son is a Trooper at Post 9 and was not only a brother in uniform to Jonathan but also a friend. They graduated from the same academy class and worked together for three years. The funeral was a fitting tribute for one of our bravest and brighest stars. We pray for your strength and courage and know that Jonathan truly loved being a trooper.
