I worked for 25 years at CPD as a civilian and it matters not where we work(ed), the loss is always felt when something like this happens, especially when one is taken so young in life. My husband and I will keep all of you in our prayers but know that God is always there to help guide you through these difficult days.

My prayers are for the family of this young officer. I pray that his wife and children would harbor no hate or bitterness. But would look to God for strength as they make their way through these dark days. My heart aches for these children.
I pray Gods blessings in abundance for them. I pray that they will stand strong in the knowledge that their husband and father died a brave man as he was working to make our state a safer place to live for others.

I will pray for Dwaynes family tonight. My wife surrived a similar alcohol related accident 3 or 4 years ago in December while on duty working the midnight shift. Me and my wife are also US Army Vetrans and we know what a struggle it is to ETS and break away from the military ranks. Dwayne and his family made into the cilvilan sector where Dwayne was able to provide for his family as a Police Officer until a "Drunk Driver" took that all away. I will continue to arrest drunks just as I have for 17yrs and I will tell them about Dwayne and what his family lost because someone acted unresponsibly by drinking and driving. God Speed my fallen brother.

I was very impressed by the strength your family displayed when I was with them today. We will continue to look after them. You will be missed. Though we needed you here with us God had other plans.I could tell you were a good man by what I heard from your family today, and what is stated at the national monument is true about you. It is not how you died that makes you a hero, but how you lived. God Speed Brother

To the Freeto Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words to say that can express how my heart goes out to you. As an officer's wife, I feel very connected to your family and want you to know that my prayers are with you. We may not understand now why things like this happen, but we will one day know the purpose and reasons. May God keep you all in His loving arms and comfort you during this time. Know that we all are here for your family. God bless you and your children.
