Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Constable Ben L. Northern

It both surprised and shocked me to read this about two Wilson County constables getting shot and killed back in 1932 while in the line of duty. I was born here in Lebanon in 1957 and I've lived here all of my life, but this is the first time I've read anything about it. No one has ever mentioned it in front of me before. It was only by accident I even ran across this, but I'm glad I did. I very thankful for these two heroes who should never be forgotten for their sacrifices. I was the Constable of Zone 5 from 1990-1998.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 78th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
