A POLICEMAN’S WIFE
I cannot believe this day has come
For it seems as though we’ve just begun.
Please dry your tears my loving bride
For I will still be right by your side.
I know you're young, but you must be strong.
And don't worry, for we won't be apart long.
I can't wait to see your beautiful face
And show you this glorious place.
The flag today they will hand to you.
They will dry your tears and salute you, too.
Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye,
You know I loved you, you know I tried.
My job called and I had to go
I just wished that you could know.
As I lay dying, I wasn't sad
For I saw God and he held my hand.
Now when times get hard,
Hold your head up high.
If you feel you need to see me,
Just look toward the sky.
Until we meet again on Heaven's bright shore,
I just have to tell you once more.
Remember Sweetheart; make the most of your life-
For you will always be a
Police Officer's Wife!
We were very saddened to hear the news. Aiken County was a much place better with Sergeant Jason L. Sheppard in it. Thank you for your service to the community. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Jason ... Over the past 2 years we didn't have the opportunity to get to know each other ... Working opposite shifts do that ... Then we got promoted together ... Over the past 2 months, you have become a great friend and have proven your dedication ... Over the past week, you have touch oh so many lives if you only knew ... Trust me I heard the stories ... And to take that a step further, you touched mine ... This past week, I was working on some paperwork in the supervisor's office, and you had to come in the office ... It was a simple, "Hello Sarge" and my reply was, of course, "Hi Sarge" and we chatted for a minute ... I have learned that you did this a lot with people at the office ... Makes me now wonder if you ever got any work done ... Just kidding ... But goes to show what type of person you were ... And for that, you will be remembered ... We will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers ... Rest in peace brother ... We are really going to miss you ...

Jason was the first officer I trained after he came to the Agency, then we served for a year together on shift.
I was present at the initial incident when the fatal event took place, and was on scene with him in seconds. Am image that will never go away is etched in my mind, though I will always remeber his laughter and smile. Jason will be missed and never forgotten. Good Night my brother, until we meet again.

I had the honor of meeting Jason before he and I actually got hired together. We took our physical fitness test together. Of course it was funny to watch Jason that had been running a gym smoke me the marine in the pt test. I knew right away from his outgoing personality, charm, and the way in which he carried himself he was unique. Jason and I worked the same days and our paths would cross frequently. Jason and I were not close, but from our talks I knew he was a family man, a man of strong faith, and a true friend to those he loved. Jason worked in law enforcement to make a difference, to help his fellow man, and to better his community. His presence will forever be missed, but we will forever honor his memory and be thankful for his service.
