Reflections for Police Officer Kenneth Chua Jordan
Ken, I am sitting here today trying to produce something in words to quantify the way I feel. Cold, numb, angry, sad. Just a few words that come to mind. Looking back it makes me sad I could not have known you better. I was fortunate that you touched my life. Thanks for calling Matt a sally and sticking up for me. We were laughing about that today when we were talking about you. Thank you for everything you did. You truely are an inspiration to everyone who wears a badge. Police or otherwise. You will be missed but never forgoten. Loved and always remembered by the thousands of lives you touched. Words cannot say how greatful we all are. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Early Thursday morning, sometime around one in the morning I was on my way home from work, I decided to go down Fountain. As I approached your memorial there was a paramedics unit parked there, lights flashing. Two men were standing there looking at your memorial, as I slowly passed by my eyes welled with tears, I cried the rest of the way home. Another senseless death for a hero. You were an exemplary officer, and will be missed. My condolences to the Jordan family, and to Ken's girlfriend. I know your loss is fresh, but know that all of CS grieves with you, and our prayers are with you.

Ken, your performance always "exceeded expectations." I will never forget that wry grin that could become a beaming smile or hearty laughter. My condolences to your family; they gave a great gift to Colorado Springs by sharing you with us. Rest in Peace.

To the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Jordan -
You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you Officer Jordan for your service, dedication, courage, and the ultimate sacrifice you made.
My heart breaks for another senseless death of a hero who was sworn to protect us. I lost my nephew 2/27/06, who was also killed in the line of duty, and our hearts will forever be broken. You will always be remembered.
I'm glad Joe has someone like you with him and that you will be watching over us. Rest in peace.

I remember Ken as a young boy hanging out at the house with my younger brother. They were the same age and great friends. Ken was the kind of kid that was such a joy to have around, always full of humor and respectful. He and my brother were friends for 27 years and the more tributes I read on here I know what an honorable man Ken was as an adult. Someone to be proud to know. Ken always loved his parents and sister. I know Ken is with the Lord now and will be missed by so many.

Ken,
I remember the night I caught 2 DUI's in 20 minutes and you were there to help bail me out. Once at MEMO, when I was a rookie processing my first DUID, you walked me through the paperwork. Your help was invaluable and you were great every step of the way. I will never forget your willingness to help others and I will try to pass it on.
You made the streets safer. You made this community a better place. You will be missed and never forgotten.
Thanks for your help brother,
Chris

I took my children to the makeshift memorial. Just standing there with my kids in silence, reflecting on the tremendous loss, my son broke his silence and asked me, "Why do you do this?" I replied, "To pay my respects to an Officer who gave his all...He exemplified duty and courage." My son said, "No Dad, why do you want to be a cop? -- You could die. I don't think I like you being a cop anymore."
I looked down at him, gritting my teeth and holding back tears, I had to whisper my reply, "Son, 'Evil will prosper when good people do nothing.'" I just let those words sink in.
Officer Jordan, thank you for your bravery and God speed. Peace and grace to all who're grieving.

Ken,
I cannot believe that I am writing a goodbye to you, as none of us saw this day coming, or can believe that this day is actually here.
I looked forward to every other weekend that I worked, knowing that you would be bringing in DUI's to the hospital, and with that we could continue our talks from the week prior, our conversations usually meaningless, poking fun at each other and picking on each other, yet always knowing it was all in good fun. Once in a while we would actually talk about meaningful things, like you and Heidi or me and "Sally Brackett". Matt and I went to the memorial site and I actually smiled, because I knew that you were shaking your head at me like you always do and you were also calling Matt "Sally" for bringing you flowers and a candle, the girlie thing to do...
You are one of the best men that I know. You are Heidi's knight in shining armour, an officer that many hope to become, a caring and funny friend to many. I hope you know how many lives you have blessed by being a part of them, no matter how big or small.
As many have already promised, I too will watch out for Heidi. I know how much you love and cherish her, and I know how much she loves you.
I finish my goodbye with a prayer:
Evening breeze, spirit song
Comes to me when day is done
Mother Earth awaken me
To the heartbeat of the sea
Ken you will never be forgotten

Our daughter Sara and Ken were in Elk Grove High school together. Ken, (two years older) and Sara would often play and practice tennis together. They were both coached by the same tennis coach, Linde Frakes. Ken, even in high school, was a man who knew where he was going and what he wanted.
I have never met Ken's mom and dad. My heart aches for them. We know the pain they are feeling as we lost Sara to an auto accident 4 years ago.
Life is not fair too much of the time. But it is comforting to know so many people loved and cared for Ken.
Well done Ken Jordan. You left us making the world better. God proudly has you in his hands now. You will be in our hearts forever.

My Jordan,
I still find myself waiting for you to come home from work in the middle of the night stumble around in the dark and then laugh at me when I complained that you were cold and you would always say "yeah but you are warm so it's all good"
We had a party for you last night and it was an incredible time just like you wanted so many of your friends showed up I was amazed at the amount of love and support that was shown, as I walked around last night I was listening to everyone telling their Ken story it made me smile you left us with so many memories, I kept looking over my shoulder for you expecting you to be over in another part of the room laughing and giving someone a hard time like you loved to do.
I miss you baby.
Your P.I.T.A.

You know all those nice things people say about people after they are gone...with you, they really are true! You processed a DUI at the hospital for me last Friday and I spoke with you briefly on the radio, but I didn't get to see you...I so wish I had!! I was looking at our Academy picture and remembering how you studied with me on Saturdays, took my gun home to clean it for me after range days and looked after me when I was hurt (both physically and otherwise) in the Academy. These few words don't quite seem to say what your friendship has always meant to me. I love you and will always miss you. Mareshah
