Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Kenneth Chua Jordan

In Saint Michael’s Arms

I proudly chose this life of mine
To wear a badge upon my chest
A member of this thin blue line
And to serve among the best

I’ve walked through blood and snow and heat
Helped put bodies in a sack
And fought with bandits on my beat
For those who can’t fight back

I’ve missed holidays and little league games
To guard the cities here on earth
Offered mine for those without a name
Because that’s what freedom’s worth

I’ve stood tall and straight in a sea of blue
While a flag draped coffin went by
Seen so many tears, and shed mine, too
As I’ve saluted a final goodbye

Yet for no special treatment will I pray
Until my final shift is done
When dispatched on that final day
To meet God’s only Son

I ask, Dear Lord, oh hear my plea
As your strength keeps me from harm
When I’m delivered unto Thee
Let it be in St. Michael’s Arms

Ken........give Jared our love. Enjoy the peace you so richly deserve.

Officer Jordan,
I know that you are resting in peace now in heaven, but I realize that your family and friends are struggling down here. I wanted to say thank you again and leave a message for all your loved ones. I know this is a long poem, but it says alot. Heidi, I don't personally know you, but I have met you once during one of my ride alongs, and I am really sorry for your loss. I know that you were very special to Ken. Ken's family, thank you for raising Ken to be such a wonderful and selfless man. Ken meant so much to so many and will remain with us forever.

If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today. While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you loved me, as much as I loved you. And each time that you think of me. I know you'll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, please try and understand, than an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand. And said my place was ready, in heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye for all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, so much left to do. It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad. I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while. I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realize that this could never be. For emptiness and memories, would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow I thought of you and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through heaven's gates. I felt so much at home when God looked down and smiled at me, from his golden throne. He said, "This is eternity, and all I've promised you. Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last, and since each day's the same way, there's no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, so trusting, and so true. Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do. But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free. So won't you come and take my hand and share my life with me?" So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart. --unknown author

Ken I know you are in safe hands now and that you are watching over your fellow officers and family down here.It is very hard to fully grasp that you are no longer here, but I know that you left doing something you loved, protecting the citizens of CS. Your family, friends, and girlfriend are in my prayers during this difficult time. I pray that they will find the courage to continue on. You are a brave soul. Thank you again for everything.

Ken,
Several days have gone by now, and I still can't believe you are gone. It seems like only yesterday we were in the academy together. Just know that you will always have a place in all of our hearts. Your integrity, kindness, work ethic, and most of all, that sense of humor that always made even the worst of days easier to get through, will be greatly missed.
My friend your service here is done, and I find comfort in knowing that you are in a far better place. A place where danger no longer exists. Rest in peace Ken. I will miss you!!
To Ken's family. Just know that Ken was loved by everyone who knew him. We are all better people and Officers for having had the priviledge to know him. You are all in our thoughts and prayers! God bless.

Ken,

As I reflect on your time here in the Springs, I go back to days when you and Judd would come over to our apartment and study with Mareshah for the next big test during the academy. I think about the time we went to the Royal Gorge. I think about going to the range and shooting, then you letting me shoot your Glock. I think about the Christmas parties and catching up with you. I will never forget how you could laugh. Your smile was so infectious. No one could be around you very long without smiling and laughing. You truly have touched many lives with your kindess. You don't know how much you are missed right now Ken. I never did take you for that flight in my plane. But now brother, you don't need my wings to fly, you have your own. Be our guardian angel now. You are "In-Service" in HIS service. Until we meet again, not good-bye, but see ya later.

Day is done
Gone the sun
From the hills
From the lake
From the sky
ALL IS WELL
SAFELY REST
GOD IS NIGH.

It is such a tragic & senseless loss. I have such deep respect for police officers. They put their lives on the line daily to protect our community. It angers me when people kill our police officers. I too have been a victim of a crime in Co. Spgs. in 2002, & the respect that the police showed me was incredible. To Ken Jordans family- you are in my thoughts & prayers, may God Bless You & keep you. Sincerely, Stacey Chandler

Another senseless tragedy
Another day of grief,
Another day of praying
To help us find relief.

Relief from bitter anguish
Relief from rage so great,
Relief from lenient justice
Which continues to seal our fate.

Relief from heartache’s torment
As we continue on,
Oh, the awesome loss of brotherhood
Now that you are gone.

Though our hearts are deeply broken
And our tears forever flow,
There’s a comforting assurance
That now with God you go.

We know that you are welcome
Now at Heaven’s gate,
While meeting brothers & sisters
Who also met such fate.

The family of Law Enforcement
Knows no distance here or there,
As we recall in comfort
You await us there.
