Reflections for Police Officer Kenneth Chua Jordan
Thanks Ken... for everything. Thanks for the first call we ever went on together where you took apart that guy's gun and we talked about earpieces... and for all the calls after that... and thank you for all the then times I heard "3T17, was someone looking for a DUI Officer?" even though you already had one or even two in custody... and thank you for all that no one would ever be able to list because the list would be too long. Thank You.

Heidi-- Our words can not express the sorrow we feel for losing Ken. You have been a huge part of his life for a long time. He always smiled when talking of you. Heidi, Ken will be by your side in everything you do. He will be your coach, and he will want you to talk about him often. Its okay to cry, for if there was no rain in the world, we would have no flowers. We are your family too, and here for anything you need.

To Officer Ken Jordan- First of all THANK YOU for your service to all Colorado Springs citizens. To your family- I feel such sympathy for you. I know what you are going through- Keep him in your thoughts daily. It never gets better, just easier to cope. I hope that TRUE justice is served for this senseless crime! It saddens me to think that someone so young- someone who served his city was taken by a coward! To the rest of the department- keep him in your thoughts- your daily thoughts! My hats off to you Ken.

Ken,
You are truly one of the nicest persons I have ever met. You always saw the best in everyone and I am going to miss you. We had some great memories together during all the DUI's we had when I worked midnights with you. You always made me laugh I will never foget the good times. May God look after your family, friends, Heidi, and our fellow officers in blue. Rest now my brother, until we meet again...

Officer Jordan,
I mourn for your brothers and sisters in blue as I watch their heartbroken tears pour out for you. I will never understand why your life was so arrogantly taken because of hatred and the evil that's in this world. But what one evil coward meant for harm has turned into a massive display of your courage, your light and love, compassion, strength, committment, and passion for life. We remember you and your sacrifice, not just in these early days following your death, but in the days, months, and years to come.
To Ken's family, CSPD family, and dear Heidi ~ God bless you and keep you as you go through this undescribable pain. You are all in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. His death is not in vain.

Ken,
I sit here now, still in total disbelief as to what has happened. I was always impressed with you in the Academy. You always put everyone else’s needs in front of yours’. You were warrior, a friend, and a brother in blue. Your laugh was contagious and your smile brightened the world. I sit here now thinking of all the wonderful things about you, and realize that I am better man for having known you. I remember the last time we had spoken we talked of going skiing, after you had taken a DUI from me. I recall saying to you wouldn’t be able to keep up with me, knowing that was hardly the case. I laughed then you laughed. All of us will miss you Ken.
Rest now 3T17.

Ken:
The ED won't be the same with one less smiling face to count on. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. You gave your life doing the job you loved; my heartbreak is that doing the job I love wasn't enough this time.
May you rest in peace.

"You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you
I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now
Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home
I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now
In Christ, there are no goodbyes
And in Christ, there is no end
So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again
To see you again
And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now"

The picture they keep showing of you on the news does not do you justice. You look so serious. The Ken I know was always smiling, could light up any room he was in, and had a great sense of humor. That's the Ken that I will always remember in my heart. We won't forget you and all the lives you impacted.

Ken, I am sorry it has taken me so long to write this. I could have been the first to leave a reflection but when I tried I couldn't see the screen through my tears, my heart ached, and I got a lump in my throat. I was listening to a song tonight and it said "when darkness falls may your heart be true, may an evening star shine down on you" and I knew that I could finally tell you what has been in my heart. For when I heard the song, I knew that those words were talking about you. Your heart was true in the darkest hour, and even though you gave all of yourself I know that you will always be looking down on us. Our evening star. May all of our hearts be as true in our darkest hour. You will be forever missed and never forgotten. Until we meet again my friend, my brother.
