Reality

Imagine how our world would be
If every police officer quit
Turned in their gun, turned in their badge,
Just finally had enough of it.

No respect, no loyalty,
No appreciation of all they do,
They’d give their lives for all of us,
These wonderful officers of “Blue”.

Kicked at, spit on,
Punched, stabbed and shot,
Everyday assaults on officers,
Done…without thinking a second thought!

Our laws are in favor of criminals,
There’s always some loophole in their case,
Out again to commit more crimes and murders
…creates pain, that we, the family and friends
…in time will never erase.

Why should they do it?
Why take the risk?
Why put their life on the line?
Subject their loved ones to endless suffering,
When their precious life is lost while fighting crime.

More murders, more kidnappings, more robberies and rapes,
Just to mention a few,
Please ask yourself how life would be,
If there were NO officers in Blue!

Would you do it? Could you do it?
And for how many…would YOU give it all?
Rewards are a 21 gun salute, a Medal of Honor,
And your name gets added to the Wall.

Think about it. Why are they here?
And why do some hate them so?
Because they enforce the laws that put convicts and murderers
In jail serving time, or on “Death Row”.

All give some and some give all,
It’s a risk they chose to take:
To put their heart and soul in it,
To put their lives at stake.

So, please take a moment,
Please give it deep thought,
Think of what “you can do”…

To help show respect,
To help follow the laws,
So we’d quit losing our Heroes in Blue!

Fallen Officers Remembered

December 11, 2006

To the family and friends of Officer Jordan, know that there are so many of us who are praying and thinking of you in your time of need. To have any life taken from us in such a tragic way alone is heartbreaking...to have one of our protectors taken away in a senseless and cruel act, is unbearable.

"I'm Free"

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path, God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all

I could not stand another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that place, at the close of day

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes...these things I too will miss

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much;
good friends, good times, a loved-one's touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.

To our HERO...Peace be with you
You will NEVER be forgotten

I was unable to attend today as I have to keep the watch. Please no that I thought of you all day, for some reason I could not sleep very well. It was wonderful to see the turn out and the community support. Officers, Troopers, and Deputy's like you, as well as our community are the reason I pin this badge on and go to work each night. May God be with you, CSPD, and your family during this horrible time. God speed brother we will take it from here.

Officer Jordan,

Your service was amazing, all your brothers and sisters in blue that came out to honor you. You'd be proude that Heidi and your sister were able to share alittle bit about you to all of us. Many of us in the fire department knew you on a professional level, after reading your reflections and hearing stories I wish I had the chance to get to know you on a more personal level.

Becaue of your sacrafice I will personally take a moment to thank every officer I run with and hopefully be able to talk them into stopping by a station to come in say Hi and get to know the fire folk.

All those that put on a badge everyday put it on the line every time we roll. You made the sacrafice, I can only hope that I treat people as well as you did. Even in your death you are still a role model to many.

Rest in Peace.

Ken,

Like many others in the department, I find it hard to imagine you're gone. I'll miss "dog shooting" with you and our lies about who had the better shot and the one that got away. Always remember to walk tall, shoot straight, and speak the truth.

Save some dogs for me...

Officer Jordan,

32 years ago my father, a police officer, was taken from us in the same tragic way you left us. I am deeply grieved that another beautiful officer, who couragously did his job for the lives of others, has left us to go home to be with Jesus. The only peace I find in this, is that my Heavenly and earthly father were waiting to greet you with open arms.

May you rest in peace, Dear one. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I didn't know you but tears came to my eyes. I have a daughter with her family living in the Springs and she told me about what happened. You gave that ultimate sacrifice, the one we tried never to think about but was always in our mind. Rest easy my brother, you are in good hands now. I wish your family much peace.

Ken, Today we will lay you to rest but we will never forget you. God bless your family. God bless you Heidi.

December 11, 2006

I have many friends on the Colorado Springs Police Force. As a prior Police Explorer, Navy Security Forces, Colorado Mounted Ranger, and a person who does Ride A Longs with CSPD, it saddens me that we have lost another brother in arms. It also saddens me that I was never able to do a ride along with you or get to know you.

No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say goodbye, you were
gone before we knew it, and only
God knows why.

May you Rest In Peace Officer Ken Jordan.

I was at the Memorial Site on Fountain the other day with my wife and I saw the poster board where people could write their reflections of Ofc. Jordan. There was a note that stood out above the rest from his girlfriend Heidi. At the end of her writing it said words to the effect of "Why God? Why him? Why? Why?" I couldn't read anymore. Those six words summed it up best. Those are the questions everyone would love to be able to answer. All anyone can answer is "I don't understand!" God bless everyone who has been touched by Ofc. Jordan. I cry for you now.

Ken,
When I heard what had happened I could not beilieve it. I remember you smile, your laugh and your joy for life and love for the job. These will always be remembered.

To your family my deepest condolences in their loss. May they find comfort in knowing you had a great impact on everyone.

You will be forever missed and but you will never be forgotten. You have left a permanent mark on all of us thatr knew you and thoise that did not know you.

I sat in my basement triying to find words to help ease the pain. There were none. I am not very good a writting or expressing my feelings but I gave it a try.

The Angels Cry for a Brother in Blue

I have always known angels to have halos and wings. Today I see an angel wearing a black leather coat, a badge of silver upon the breast, shiny black leather belt and shoes. A reflection of pride for his department and the community he serves to protect.

I have always known angels to wear robes of white. Today I see an angel wearing dark blue pants, light blue shirt and a silver badge so bright.

I have seen an angel go where death is found. I have seen an angel walk toward death while others tremble and dare not. I have seen an angel willing to protect all from harm.

I have always known angels to glow from God’s heavenly light. Today I have seen and angel glow with red and blue lights.

Today I see the angels cry for a brother in blue.

Gods speed for now you are patrolling God's Kingdom. Keep it safe as you did for us on earth.

Ken,

I am overwhelmed with sadness and at the same time filled with anger. Not only were you one of the kindest and most sincere friends I had, but you were an exceptional Officer and I looked up to you. I still can’t believe you are gone and my heart aches for Heidi, your family, your friends and all of us on the department.

I know you would want us to carry on and, as hard as that is going to be, I promise you, we will continue to serve and protect as you did. I don’t understand why you were taken but you are with the Lord now and in a better place, away from all the evil and ugliness of this world. We will continue to fight for those who can not fight and bring justice to those who bring harm to others.

I miss your smile and your positive outlook. I hope and pray that I can somehow take your passing and use it to become a better and more effective Officer.

Thank you for your service. We have your watch and we will not let you down.

CSPD
