Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Kenneth Chua Jordan

I still remember the night I did three DUIs with you and then stopped you on your way home. How funny was that? You were exausted. I learned so much from you. I still think of you frequently. I wish I could have been there for you that night.

Well here we are...we are blessed with another beautiful and finally healthy baby girl, Charlotte, but you already knew that. With another life to us, I was thinking that the special friends that YOU made are now in OUR lives (which I feel lucky for) and it causes me to catch my breath that without this horrific incident, they would not be known to me. As everyone else, I feel blessed to have known you!! However, it is pretty amazing the people that you have brought together even after you are not here in person. But, then again, you are pretty amazing and will always give us courage to be stronger and couregous and go after our dreams. As the kids say, "I dreamt about Uncle Ken last night." I miss you SO!!!! I can't believe it's almost here! Bet you never thought you'd see it, huh? I'm glad you'll be with us. I'll meet ya in the reef...maybe you could help me with a cool sighting? ;-) I love and miss you so very much. Please welcome your newest brothers (memphis/tampa) in blue to heaven and show them all the great hang out spots. Forever in my heart! Muah!!!!

Wow, it's been a while Kennyboy. Yesterday a Chicago police officer was killed. He was a young man that was trying to make a difference in his community. It made me think of you. Hope my dad isn't driving ya too nuts. hehe..

Miss ya bro,

Still miss you, my friend! Tomorrow is our regional law enforcement memorial where you will be formally remembered and recognized. It is a good thing for us to publicly remember so the public does not forget, but it does not take ceremonies for your friends to think of you and remember their cherished time with you!

Tomorrow we will say goodbye to our brother. The day seems almost to much to take. I picked up the vest he wore on his motorcycle runs and looked at the pins and patches he had. At the top were the pins for you and Jared. He wore them right over his heart. I gave those to him so long ago because he said he wanted to always remember you both and ride in your memory. It caught me off guard to see them on his vest and I broke down in tears. Knowing he was thinking of you and so many other when he rode brings me some peace. Please watch over him and lead him home.

Jordan,
You are still in our hearts on this anniversary day.
We all had a moment of silence at the bridge, it was beautiful, all the cruiser overheads lit up, as we all said our silent prayers. Thanks for looking out for all of us.
