Reflections for Police Officer Kenneth Chua Jordan

Rest in Peace fallen brother in blue. You will not be forgotten, and will be greatly missed. We find comfort knowing you are patrolling the streets of heaven watching over us still here. You did not die in vain, you parished protecting the streets and fellow officers you were sworn to protect. I will proudly shroud my badge to show you the respect you so greatly deserve for making the ultimate sacrifice. Thank You...

Ken,

Always know that you will be missed. I remember all the calls and messages saying you'd be out east for the remainder if we didn't need you. I'm gonna miss getting those messages.

You and Jared keep and eye over us.

Rich

Officer Jordan,

As a member of the Colorado Springs Fire Department our paths crossed many times. We may not have known each other personally, but there was always a nod and smile as we wroked on scenes together. There is always facial recognition between members our two departments.

Know in our hearts we are thankful for those of you that are willing to put your lives on the line for the rest of us. You made the ultimate sacrafice for the citizens of Colorado Springs and for that we can not even begin to formulate words that express our gratitude to you and all officers of Springs PD.

Rest in Peace.

Fred Salazar
Colorado Springs Fire Department

Officer Jordan. You did what only a small percentage of the people in this country can do. You put your life on the line to protect others. I hope your family finds peace and joy in your service. Thank you.

I had no idea that we had lost a police officer here in Colorado until the 5 pm news from 5/30. What a tragedy to lose any police officer but in your back door it really makes you sit up and take notice. This is the second police officer we have lost in Colorado Springs this year. Officer Jensen was lost to us in February.

IN DARKNESS IN SILENCE OF THE NIGHT WHEN ALL APPEARED
SAFE AND SECURE WHAT THIS OFFICER HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING
HE WAS BEGINNING HIS SHIFT OF LAST TOUR

SHOULD HAVE BEEN A ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP
HE REQUESTED THEM NOT TO EXIT THEIR CAR HOWEVER THEY HAD NOTHING
LEFT TO LOSE AND THE SHOTS COULD BE HEARD FROM AFAR

THINGS THEN BECAME VERY PERSONAL
AS HIS LIFELESS BODY LAY ON THE GROUND
THEN YOU HEAR THE WORDS THAT STAND STILL
START ME A RESCUE UNIT OFFICER DOWN

A MIST OF GLOW FELL UPON THE SCENE
THE ARCHANGEL IN SPIRITUAL RADIANCE SHONE
WATCHING OVER THOSE IN THE UNIFORM OF BLUE
THEY ARE HIS CHARGES, CHILDREN OF THE THRONE

WHILE YOU NEVER TOOK THE TIME TO MEET HIM
OUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS THEM ALL BY NAME
THEIR HONOUR, COURAGE, INTEGRITY AND PRIDE
THOUGH NONE EVER SOUGHT ANY GLORIOUS FAME

ON BENDED KNEE, HIS HEAD BOWED LOW
THROUGH TEARS THAT HAD COME AND GONE
MICHEAL GATHERED THIS OFFICER IN HIS ARMS
SLOWLY BEGIN THE ASCENSIONS JOURNEY ON

THERE AT HEAVENS MAGNIFICENT GATE
WAS GOD WAITING FOR THIS SOUL TO EMBRACE
WELCOME HOME MY SON, MY FIRST POLICE OFFICER
COME NOW AND WALK WITH ME IN EMINENT GRACE
BY KATHERINE RABORN
Our deepest sympathies go to the family memebers, loved ones and brothers and sisters who wear the badge of law enforcement.
GOD BLESS THE FAMILY AND ALL WHO KNEW OFFICER JORDAN

There are no words that make sense of this senseless act of violence. Performing your job puts you in jeopardy, even with what may seem to be the most ordinary of tasks. Officer Jordan, you may not have been thanked often enough for your contribution to keep Colorado Springs citizens safe, but we thank you now.

One of our family members lives in your state, and will be involved with the local chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors as your survivors walk this difficult path.

To the family, friends, fellow officers and the community of Officer Jordan: our family offers our deepest condolences. Rest in peace, sir; you will not be forgotten.

“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

Not sure as where to start, Ken I want to thank you for your ultimate sacrifice and doing the ugly job that most are too afraid to even think about.Thank you for working the holidays, working in the extreme elements, and missing numerous family events and all for a job that is all to often looked over and ignored. We in this line of work we dont do it for the pay,or the recognition, we do it to make a difference no matter how small or trivial it may seem. I don't doubt for a second that over the course of your police career you impacted many peoples lives and that they are better people because of your influence and contact with them. Even though I did not get to work with you directly I am at a lost over losing my fellow brother. I send my deepest sympathies to Ken's mother, father, sister and girlfriend. Now is the time to rest on our shoulder's, we are here for you. Ken is now in a place without crime or pain. I feel safer knowing he will be watching over me and every officer out there doing the same job he loved. Rest In Peace Ken,you will be missed but not forgotten.

I attended high school and college with Ken. Despite not keeping in recent contact, I still consider him a dear friend. He was someone who would take the shirt off of his back for a friend, and you'd do the same for him. I have so many wonderful memories of him. He was a great person, a terrific friend, and a dedicated police officer.

The world is a little darker, a little more bleak, without him.

God speed, Ken. We miss you.
