To Jordan family,
Thank you for your son. The few times I did get to catch up with Ken in Intake were definately blessings. He was kind and a credit to the profession.

When the Lord was creating peace officers, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the spec on this order? A peace officer has to be able to run five miles through alleys in the dark, scale walls, enter homes the health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle his uniform.
"He has to be able to sit in an undercover car all day on a stakeout, cover a homicide scene that night, canvass the neighborhood for witnesses, and testify in court the next day.
"He has to be in top physical condition at all times, running on black coffee and half-eaten meals. And he has to have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord, "It's the three pairs of eyes an officer has to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. One pair that sees through a bulge in a pocket before he asks, "May I see what's in there, sir?" (When he already knows and wishes he'd taken that accounting job.) "Another pair here in the side of his head for his partners' safety. And another pair of eyes here in front that can look reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say, 'You'll be all right ma'am, when he knows it isn't so."
"Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow."
"I can't," said the Lord, "I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk into a patrol car without incident and feed a family of five on a civil service paycheck."
The angel circled the model of the peace officer very slowly, "Can it think?" she asked.
"You bet," said the Lord. "It can tell you the elements of a hundred crimes; recite Miranda warnings in its sleep; detain, investigate, search, and arrest a gang member on the street in less time than it takes five learned judges to debate the legality of the stop... and still it keeps its sense of humor. This officer also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with crime scenes painted in hell, coax a confession from a child abuser, comfort a murder victim's family, and then read in the daily paper how law enforcement isn't sensitive to the rights of criminal suspects."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the peace officer. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model."
"That's not a leak," said the lord, "it's a tear."
"What's the tear for?" asked the angel.
"It's for bottled-up emotions, for fallen comrades, for commitment to that funny piece of cloth called the American flag, for justice."
"You're a genius," said the angel.
The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there," he said.

When Jenni called to tell me the news I thought it was all a bad dream that I couldn't wake up from. I just couldnt believe it happened yet again to us. You were on my mind just a few days ago and I went to call you but somehow the time got away from me and I didnt get to make that call. I so regret not making that call. Its so unreal. I just saw you at Traceys wedding. I am so glad that I took pictures that day. You know me always with a camera in my hand. You were such a good friend to me. I remember meeting you on my first day at the Creek, I didnt think you could teach this old dog anything new but I learned a lot from you. Thanks you. You took such good care of my while Brian was in Iraq. I can never thank you enough. You were the brother I never had. Always there for me when I needed something even if it last minute even helping with the dogs (Hunter and Kayla are so sad too). I will miss our long talks and cherish the time that I had to spent with you. God brings people into our lives for a reason and I am so blessed to have know you Jordan. You always lived life to the fullest. I remember the times we went to Pueblo to hang with Otero, you teaching me how to ski and lets not mention the Pueblo lake incident. I went through the pictures of Cancun yesterday and though of all the funny things that happened with you Jason, Jason, Glen, Kristen, Brian and me. Just remember who picked Cancun in June? It was me. Kristen. I will also miss your fried rice. I dont know what you put in that but boy was that always good. What a senseless shame it is to have man so full of life be taken away when you loved life so much. I will miss your hugs and smiles. No one could light up a room the way you did. You would never show anyone if your having a bad day it wasnt your style. My heart breaks for you mom, dad, sister, bother in law, niece and nephew. I know how much they meant to you. I know that they are so proud to be your family Jordan. You and Jared are together now. Watch over us and keep us safe. Until we meet again in heaven my friend. All my love Nadine.

My heart goes out to the family of Officer Jordan and to the family of blue that is the CSPD. It always hits home and it is way too soon to lose another officer to yet another senseless act of violence. You are a hero Officer Jordan, who knows how many lives you saved by removing a DUI driver from the streets. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your loved ones, and your friends and fellow officers.
"BROTHERS"
Shoulder to shoulder
Standing side by side
Academy graduation
Beaming with pride.
Thoughts to the future
A career lies ahead
It’s all brand new
Nothing to dread
The years add up
So do the scars
Fights in streets
Alleys and bars
Get the job done
That’s what cops do
Whether you wear
Tan, gray or blue
Shoulder to shoulder
Standing side by side
Brothers are missing
Brothers have died
From across the nation
In towns large and small
Black shrouds remind us
Of those who gave all
The battle continues
Their deaths not in vain
Continue the fight
Victory to gain
When the war is over
And evil must hide
We will be shoulder to shoulder
Standing side by side

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional eyes on your earthly force.
Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, an uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.
Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law breakers, and impervious to temptations.
You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences with the devil that the policeman's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self control give us inspiration.
And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of men.
Amen
