When God Made Peace Officers
Unknown Author
When the Lord was creating peace officers, he was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one"
And the Lord said, "Have you read the spec on this order?" A peace officer has to be able to run five miles through alleys in the dark, scale walls, enter homes the health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle his uniform."
He has to be able to sit in an undercover car all day on a stakeout, cover a homicide scene that night, canvass the neighborhood for witnesses and testify in court the next day."
He has to be in top physical condition at all times, running on black coffee and half-eaten meals. And he has to have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands...no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems." said the Lord, "It's the three pairs of eyes an officer has to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. "One pair that sees through the bulge in a pocket before he asks, 'May I see what's in there sir?' (When he already knows and wishes he'd taken that accounting job.) Another pair here in the side of the head for his partner's safety. And another pair of eyes here in the front that can look reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say. 'You'll be all right ma'am.' When he knows it isn't so."
"Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow."
"I can't" said the Lord, "I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk into a patrol car without incident, and feed a family of five on a civil service pay check."
The angel circled the model of the peace officer very slowly. "Can it think?" she asked.
"You bet." said the Lord. "It can tell you the elements of a hundred crime scenes; recite Miranda warnings in his sleep; detain, investigate, search, and arrest a gang member on the street in less time than it takes five learned judges to debate the legality of the stop...and still keeps its sense of humor."
"This officer also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with crime scenes painted in hell; coax a confession from a child abuser; comfort a murder victim's family; and then read in the daily paper how law enforcement isn't sensitive to the rights of criminal suspects."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her fingers across the cheek of the peace officer. "There's a leak." She pronounced. "I told you that you are trying to put to much in this model."
"That's not a leak," said the Lord, "it's a tear."
"What's the tear for?" asked the angel.
"It's for bottled-up emotions; for fallen comrades; for commitment to that funny piece of metal called his badge; for justice."
"You're a genius." said the angel.
The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there." he said.

Officer Jordan
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing another message to one of my husband's brothers in blue. I never imagined I would have to do this again, and so soon. Thank you for your dedication to our community, you are truly an amazing individual for just being willing to risk your life on a daily basis. The job of a Police Officer takes a very special person and you were one of them. You faced the daily challenges of individuals that don't always appreciate what you are doing for the community. Unfortunately you have now paid the ultimate price but you will never be forgotten.
To Officer Jordan's family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Thank you for raising a son who was willing to think of others before himself. You should be very proud of everything Ken accomplished.
To Officer Jordan's girlfriend. Again my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief and despair. Please know that you have an entire extended family of people grieving for your loss but willing to support you whenever you need it.
Thank you again Officer Jordan for all you have done for the community of Colorado Springs. Please watch over your fellow Police Officers.
God's Blessing to your family and girlfriend. May you find some comfort in knowing that your son was loved and respected by many.

I never met you Officer Jordan, but I know what we go thru day in and day out. I had the pleasure of meeting many of your fellow female officers at a conference in Colorado. They were all very nice and I am sure you were the same. My heart goes out to you, your family, and fellow officers. Your watch here on eath is now over, but now you have taken on a new tour up there in heaven. Patrol the golden streets up there and keep them safe. Look down on us and give us a sign if things are not right. Your loved ones will be taken care of and watched out for. Rest now and we will take the watch from here.

To the Colorado Springs PD and all its employees and officers, and to Officer Jordan's family, my sincerest condolences.
I was recently in Colorado Springs to attend a job Fair at Ft. Carson. I met some of the wonderful servants in law enforcement there and consider them and their family best friends. May God protect and lead you through this trajedy and the days ahead. You are His Saints on His Mission. Your cause is noble. Keep the Faith. Continue the Mission and focus on Him.

Yesterday I lost a dear friend but it warms my heart to see the caring and compassion that comes from companions and strangers alike. In the 15 years that I have know Ken he had always wanted to be a police officer and loved every minute of being one. He is truly one of the few people that I knew that looked forward to getting up and going to work. When I see messages from his coworkers and fellow officers I understand why. He had a family that extended way beyond blood relatives. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support that is shown from all.
Ken, I will always love you and miss you, even though you will not be standing next to me on the altar next September you will always be in my heart I miss you my brother.
Love, Steve and Staci

To the Jordan family, Ken's girlfriend and his brotheres and sisters in Blue in the CSPD and their families--Another senseless disregard for life and the loss of one of the finest officers in the department. Our heart break and our deepest sympathies go out to each of you. Our son is a detective for CSPD and knew Ken well. From what our son has shared, Ken was an incredible friend and a shining example of the best of the best. Our son said his willingness to help, to always "be there", his laughter, kindness, dedication & love for the department and his family were an example to all. This kind of a man will live forever. To his family in Blue-your job is thankless, hours long, stressful & exhausting. What you see every shift is unbelievable to we civilians. Thank you! To the Jordan's, you must be so proud of raising such a wonderful son with so much love and dedication to his fellow man. May God be with you during this horrible time. Ken touched everyone he me. God Bless each of you in Blue and thank you Mr and Mrs Jordan for touching our
lives with your hero son.
