I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to leave you a Happy Birthday message on your actual birthday... I'm sure you can tell that life has been pretty crazy for me lately! But I know you know I was thinking about you the whole day...

I came to visit your grave the other day... I'm so glad that you and Brian Neville are so close by each other at Dulaney Valley. I hope you two have crossed paths in Heaven because you were two of my favorite guys here on earth!

Please continue to keep watch over us, as I'm sure you've been doing all along. I love you and I miss you...

I cannot believe two years has past. Sometimes it feels like yesterday and other days it feels like forever. Jesse and I still keep you alive all the time. He is still so proud of you.Jesse is changing his name. He is so proud that he has your name and your name will go on with your son. He is still so involved with GW and takes your models with him there and takes such good care of them. We miss your humor and you always having the right this to say in a hard situation. My Dad recently passed on 12/14/2008 very sudden from Heart problems. I hope he found you in Heaven Billy, He missed you too..he kept such a good watch over Jess and I for you but I think he finally felt as though we were ok. I miss you both and I hope you show him the ropes. I am sure you have figured out heaven by now and have a friend in every area...lol

Please keep a watch over Jesse...he is turning into such a wonderful young man and it had so much to do with you.

My Dad’s Death
By Jesse Andrew Kolb Beebe
10-09-07

My most memorable fall event was when my Dad passed away in November just last year. Have you ever lost something in your family?

My Dad passed away 10 months ago and this is how it started that Monday. It was 8:00 a.m. and I was still asleep, but my Dad had to go to work. My Dad was a Deputy Sheriff for Harford County. Then at 8:10 a.m., I woke up, got dressed, and went to school.

After school, I went to the aftercare program in the cafeteria at my school. My Mom picked me up around 5:45 p.m. that day and drove home. A little later on that evening, my Dad came home from work around 8:00-8:05 p.m. to get his dinner because he was on break. Then he said, “I love you Jesse,” and drove away to go eat his dinner. He was supposed to come back from work at 10:30 p.m., but he still wasn’t home. “Where could he be?” I said, “He is very late.” “I don’t know,” said Mom, “I was about to ask you the same question.” I could see car lights coming in our court, but they were just people who lived in our court. I could hear my pet cat, but no Dad. I could taste the nervousness in my stomach and my Mom’s too.

It was 11:00 p.m. . . ., he still wasn’t home. It was a half an hour later and he still wasn’t home. “Where is he,” I said feeling nervous inside but angry on the outside. “He is probably out with some friends,” said Mom. I went to sleep at 11:45 p.m. and then Mom got nervous and called my grandmother. At 5:00 a.m., a Priest woke me up with my Mom. I shook his hand feeling all nervous. “Where is my Dad,” I said. “He was in a car accident,” he said. “He is in a better place now and you will remember him for the rest of your life,” he said very sadly. So I went downstairs and I saw the other officers from his shift. So I hugged everyone and I was waiting in my living room to see the news on the television and I saw it and they said, “They are pulling the police car out of the ditch right now and they are doing an autopsy to see what caused my Dad to have a heart attack.”

“So if you want to learn more about my Dad’s death, ask me.”

Here is my Dad, 28 yrs. old, 2 years as a Deputy Sheriff:

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Well, it's officially after midnight so today would've been your 30th birthday. I wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and wishing you a Happy Birthday in Heaven... I hope you're up there celebrating!

I still can't believe you've been gone for so long... time is really flying, even though it's not so much fun down here without you! Our shift isn't the same without you - I don't think it will ever be the same. Please continue to watch over us and keep us safe... and help us to be strong when days are tough.

We love you and miss you and think of you every single day...

Again, I have never met you but my husband and son have many times. You gave my son a pinwheel from your front yard because he would not leave them alone. I did meet Tina and I am so sorry that she has moved. Thank you for what you have done and you will be missed by many and I am so sorry I never had a chance to meet you. Peace to you and your family and God Bless a true officer.

Beebs,
It's been over a year now and I still continue to miss you. The holidays are the worst because you are not here. I know that some people have moved on but it's too hard for me. You were a special person and I will never move on. I will never forget you and I will always keep you in my heart.

Well, it's been a year and I still feel so sad about Bill leaving this world. Bill was the greatest neighbor, as was his fiance Tina and her son Jesse. (I have since moved from that area). We all worked different shifts with odd hours and didn't see each other that often, but when I did see Bill, he always greeted me with a smile. Almost every time it snowed, I would wake up, look outside, and the snow was magically gone from my front steps, or my car was mysteriously cleaned off. That was Bill in action, watching out for the semi-old woman that lived next door. That's the kind of man he was. He was loved by many and will always be missed.

To Tina and Jesse: Hang in there. I know it's been an incredibly tough year for you, and the holidays are especially hard. I think of you quite often.

Dear Tina and Jesse~
I thought I'd stop by just to say that I was thinking about you and Jesse. Its hard to believe it has almost been a year. We have never met, I did get the chance to meet Jesse at the viewing. He is a blessing, very sweet, and very funny little boy. He showed me a few pictures and introduced himself well. You should be proud as Im sure Beebe would be too. I just wanted you guys to know from time to time I think and ask about the two of you. I work with Diana at Harford and I ask about you guys sometimes. Im good friends with some of the Deputies still and its like a family, you stick together and support one another. I know hes still watching over you two, and he will always be with you and a big part of your lives. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you both. Maybe one day we will meet.
Take care

Beebe, I don't know what to say. It's almost been a year now and it is still so fresh in my mind. I remember us getting the phone call, we could not believe it. We were in shock, and when Brian called me from the hospital and told me, I couldn't move. It has been very hard, but we are doing better now. We still miss and think about you everday! We know that you are keeping a watch out for the other officers! I know you will keep Brian and everyone else safe. I hope that you are resting in peace. We love you!!

Oh yeah and by the way.. thanks a lot for teaching Brian the G.A.M theory, lol! He uses it a lot. You would be proud of him. :-)

You were a damn fine officer, but an even better friend. Thanks for being there for Brian for me. You are definitely missed!

You are in our hearts forever 732.
