Rest in peace and always know that no passage of time can ever erase yours and your fellow Rangers service and heroic sacrifice.

Uncle James, Thank you and your fellow Texas Rangers for protecting the early citizens of Texas. Your service and sacrifice at Bush Creek has not gone unnoticed. You and your brother Daniel (my great-grandfather twice removed) are part of the birth of Texas and have been honored with historical road signs and your names forever in the history books of Texas. I wonder if you knew that the Texas Ranger would be the pride of Texas? I hope so. I look forward in meeting you some day. RIP

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 170th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
