What lies beyond this restless void;
This tired shell,
These sleepless nights;
When all life's smiles have been enjoyed,
Each tear has fell,
Thus fought the fight;
What wonders see the eyes now closed,
Be joyous land,
Or saddened seas;
In what world or time have they arose,
May they still stand,
In silent breeze;
Or wash and wade in rivers slow,
Or see the hawk,
Fly high above;
Or watch the oak tree sprout and grow,
May voices talk,
Or sing of love;
Will memories made long ago,
No more stand,
Or live in thought,
Or will our tribulations show,
Still understand,
Our lessons taught;
What comes when eyes, eternal close,
Breath no more,
The hearts work done,
When ascend we to those lightened glows,
Our life now lore,
Our battles won.
To the Favela family, may your memories of him bring you comfort at this difficult time.

I want to say that I am so sorry for your loss. I live on Kauai I have never met your family but I saw your husbands story on the news and it touched my heart. I know that this is the hardest thing to go through because I lost my father a little over a year ago. My father died of prostate cancer. Me and my mom took care of my father the last 2 years he was living. My father was my hero. The hardest part of taking care of him was watching him go from being strong to being weak and watching him die. I was a daddy's girl. When my father died I lost a big part of my life. I know in my heart your husband was a great guy. Just know that you and your family are in my prayers. I cried when the news said your husband died. My way of getting through each day with out my father here is knowing that my father is my guardian angel and he is watching over me every day. I want to wish you guys the very best. Please know that I do understand how hard this time is for you and your family and know that your not alone. I wish you guys a happy holidays even though it is hard right now. I still get sad on the holidays and miss my father but I know he is here with me through memories.
Sincerly Kala

Whenever there is news of an officer losing his life in the line of duty it hits very close to home for us. I make it a point to give my dad a hug and a kiss every time he leaves for work, because it may be the last time I see him. My heart goes out to the Family and Friends of Officer Steve Favela, and I want you all to know that the people of Hawaii (and the entire nation) mourns with you. In this tragedy, Steve brought the attention the need for more blood donors, and who knows how many other lives he has saved because of that.
Mahalo Officer Favela for your sacrifice.

We will miss you, Steve! Although it's been years since I've last seen you, I'll remember those times that you always helped me at QMC on 8 Ewa as a nurse assistant. I will remember your warm smile and willingness to help others. You will always be remembered!!!
Barbara, I don't know if you remember me...taking classes together while trying to get into nursing school and working at QMC together. I still remember when you two were just starting going out together.
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you and pray that our Lord Jesus will comfort, guide, and bless you always!

In Loving Memory:
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
May God Bless The Favela Family In This Time Of Sorrow...

I still remember the first time we met, we were much much younger then. Pop warner (Kalakaua termites) football to be exact, do you remember? It was the bull ring!!! within the metal monkey bars. You were the first guy in my life who scared the beegeezees out of me LOL!!!! I had the pleasure of knowing you from small kid time and knew from the start the type of person you were. Tough, aggressive, proud, a no nonsence kind of guy, one who led by actions not words!!!!!!!! but you know what really stuck with me, is how your presence alone commanded respect but you were the most kind hearted, most humble person i've ever met. It wasn't a shock to me when our lives crossed again many many years later, that I encountered the same respectful, humble guy that everyone just naturally gravitated to. I never had the chance to tell you how much I admired the person you were back then and now. You are a HERO, a role model, you are much much more than I could ever wish to be!!!!!!!You have made me a better person and I THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I know I speak for many when i tell you "YOU WILL BE MISSED". "STEVE FAVELA -3846-RODE HARD, RODE SOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
