I am so saddened to learn of your loss. It is so needless and tragic. Your wife and children will be surrounded by the thin blue line, but it will never replace you. I lost my father on 11/11/04, and this time of year is difficult- now it will be for your friends and family also, and that breaks my heart. I know, though, that my dad and so many other wonderful officers whose names and stories are immortilized on this website, were there to welcome you home this morning, with arms wide open. Thank you, Sir, for your dedication, service and sacrifice. Rest now with Jesus, you have earned your peace. God bless you and all those you loved.

A Fallen Hero
Rest now brother and know this. should your family ever need for anything the rest of us down here will provide. Stay 10-8 because one day the time will come when their will be an Officer/Deputy who will be alone in pain and need of your comfort and that is when you will get to complete your shift. We will finish what you started last night, their will be justice.

Brian, where do I start? So much has been going through my mind today. I remember our academy days in the 144th Corrections Academy like it was yesterday. We both hated it when we were there, but later looked back on it with fondness. You really helped me get though it buddy. I remember going over to your house and playing tennis. I beat you every time but you always wanted a rematch. After the academy we both ended up working together in one of the worst placed you could work in the jail, the 7th floor. I was the 7A Housing Deputy and you were the 7B Housing Deputy. How many times did we 10-94 each other?? I think you backed me up a few more times than I did to you. But that should be no surprise to anyone who knew you. That’s the kinda guy you are.
Then you went to the road. I remember how excited you were to now be a "Road Guard". You invited me and my wife over so you could "show us your new baby", but I know you really wanted to show off your new police car and new gear. As the years went by, we didn't hang out as much anymore. And the only times I got to see you were in passing or Field Force training. But that always seemed to be enough to catch up and reminisce about the "good old days". I miss you brother, and wish we had more time. But rest assured we will carry on the tradition and legacy you left behind.
On behalf of all your comrades from the 144th, rest in peace. We love you brother!
To Deputy Brian Tepford's wife, Stefanie and her 3 children, my God bless you and keep you strong. You will always be in our prayers.

POLICEMAN’S 23RD PSALM
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind
He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans, I’m a “minister of God,”
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name’s sake He keeps me whole.
When I walk through death’s valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.
He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life’s enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, “Well done…”
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun.
Rest in Peace, Brother…
