Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David Jerome Rancourt
I had the opertunity to attend college with Dave. He taught all of us younger guys to be better people and better professionals. Although I lost contact with Dave over the years I never forgot the great qualities that Dave taught me. He was very dedicated to his family and his country. Dave you will never be forgotten.

David-
Thank you for your service, for making your community a safer place to live, for being a great role model, a great husband & father. You will be missed, but know that you live on through your son and in our fond memories. God Bless you brother, “fair winds and following seas”
A DIVERS PRAYER-
Almighty God, Our Heavenly Father, we, who descend into the depths of the seas ask Your protection and guidance in your aquatic kingdom.
We pray You find value in those who search the waters of the Seven Seas to increase the knowledge of humankind, to seek and understand the vast mysteries of our past as well as that abundant world which lives below the surface of the water, and enjoy this new found world and all it has to offer.
As we small people work below, Dear God, watch over us and help us to return to our surface world.
But, Heavenly Father, should we perish in this watery world, we ask that You forgive us, cleanse our hearts and redeem our souls, and lead us to serve You forever and ever.
Amen.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Deput Sheriff Rancourt, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

I will always remember Dave as "Top". Dave was my First Sergeant while out unit was deployed in Iraq. Dave was a great leader and will be missed by every person he came in contact with.
While Serving overseas you could be having a bad day and he would walk by and smile and say another day down another day closer to home. After that things seemed a little easier.
Thank you Top and may you rest in peace.
My condolences to your family.

Dave- I met you for the first time about 3 months ago, and I can honestly say that I have never met a more kind hearted person before. Being new here and working nights, I have a lot of questions that many times no one is around to answer them, without calling and waking someone up. When you were working, you were always in here to help me with whatever I needed, which really means a lot to me. You were someone that I felt an instant trust with, and I knew I could go to you if I needed help with anything. In only 3 months, you've left a huge impression on me. You have shown all of us what it really means to be one of the best, and one of the finest examples of an officer that I have ever met. I really miss hearing "15 County Code 1-3." I miss you dearly and you will always be in our hearts.
