Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David Jerome Rancourt
Deputy Rancourt, it has been 18 years since you were taken from us. Northern New England law enforcement continues to serve and protect and make life secure for our part of the country. I honor your military and 10 years of law enforcement service to the citizens of Androscoggin County.

Our lives are better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I’d had to miss the dance. You are missed so very much.

It's Thanksgiving time. I miss you. Things could be better. If you wouldn't mind shining your star on me for good luck I promise I will hug your family extra tight. I wish you were here. Your boys are growing quickly and they are respectful but most important loving. Take care in heaven. I love you

Your son, Brock, on Memorial Day heard your voice for the first time, thanks in part to the Maine Criminal Justice Academy's help in sharing the tape of your 1999 Graduation. It was such a precious moment that we shared with everyone. I know you know this because you must be the one who told San how to accomplish this. I miss you everyday but I see you in your boys. Love you Bro

I love you and miss you more then you know. To quote the words of a song you used to sing to Jeromey as a baby "I love you more today than yesterday..." Your boys are growing up so fast. Jeromey is becoming a wonderful young man, and a great example for Brock. Brock is such a sweetheart and speaks of you often asking questions about what you were like.
Continue to watch over us and keep us safe. Until we meet again my love.

Deputy Rancourt, I just read the post by your wife on another page. The love she had for you was evident in the short, yet touching post. It's just one of those things that point out what a good man you must have been.
I know you have never truly left her side.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
