I am a former Firefighter/E.M.T. in the Sacramento area. I am now a Police Officer in Nashville, TN. I have many friends from S.C.S.O. and think of them often. I am truly sorry for your loss and I feel your pain. We had an officer ambushed this morning, struck by gunfire numerous times as she was seated in her car completing a report. She is still fighting for her life. We always hope and pray we will come home to our loved ones at the end of our shifts but nothing is certain. Thank you, Deputy Mitchell, for your duty and honor. I will pray for your family and friends.

My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers of Deputy Mitchell; may he rest in peace and always be remembered as hero.
I know that law enforcement in your area will not rest until your killer is caught and brought to justice. I pray that it happens quickly and no more lives are devastated by the actions of this cowardly individual.
