Dear Jeff:
Another senseless act against a fellow brother officer. When, when will this craziness end? Thank you Jeff, for your service and dedication. Though we have never met, I am certain that God had a better plan for you. But we will meet, someday, in a better place. Little do we mere mortals understand. But my heart is broken, (again), for the son who won't have Daddy around to play with, or to watch as he takes his first shave, or makes his first sounds of a man.
Again my heart breaks, for the wife who is left with shattered dreams and a life alone. A mother who gave all to raise an American hero, only to have him cut down in the prime of his life.
Jeff, your death will not be in vain, and the suspect WILL be hunted forever if neccesary. While our fellow countrymen go about their lives as our forefathers intended, a police officer gave his life to that end, and his family lives on with pain and sorrow unheralded.
Those of you who read this, and do not have a police officer in your family, remember our families also pay an exact price for our committment to all of you. So please, in Jeff's name and to honor him and all who have made a supreme sacrifice, when you see a police officer, thank him or her for the dedication and sacrifice that he or she is making FOR YOU, and to their families as well.
And Jeff, to you I say brother, rest in peace. We have the watch now. And forever, you will be remembered as one of America's Finest. "In valor, there is hope". Amen

Palm Beach Sheriff's Office-Florida
