Reflections for Police Officer Patrick Roy Kramer
Our little girl turned 4 today...it's hard to believe that four years ago she came into our lives....it's even harder to believe you won't be here to celebrate with us.
We love you and miss you! RIP.

One year has passed but I know for some it has felt like a lifetime while for others it seems like yesterday they were able to hear your voice, your touch and see your beautiful smile. Continue to keep watch over all of them and wrap your wings around them to help them with their grief and protect them from harm. You are a true hero.

It is so weird knowing a year has gone by since your accident. It still seems like it was just yesterday.

Well sweetie we had a memorial service for you last Saturday...you already know that and we most likely there with us. Cory and I attempted to fish in memory of what you and I were doing that exact day one year ago. You and I were more successful.

Pat,
I was shocked to hear of your passing a while ago. I didn't know you well as I was younger. With that being said, I have very few memories of you. One that seems to stand out clear as day is watching you and Tim in the hallways at Skyview. You guys were almost always laughing. It was like you had your own code and secrets that nobody would be privy too.
I am sure you are well aware that Heaven welcomed another of your classmates early this year. The skies are a bit brighter at night with the 2 of you there.
You gave your life in hopes of saving another. Blessed be your soul. May the arms of the lord be wrapped around your daughter, family and friends as your anniversary approaches. May he help them remember the highlights in your life vs your exit and give them the comfort that you are still standing watch over them and leaving your foot prints in their hearts.
Keep that adrenaline junkie out of trouble up there if you can. :)
Thank you for your bravery.
Blessings of Peace and Love

Cst Shaun Casselton and myself had the honour of attending Patrick's service in Billings. Although we did not know Patrick, from his friends and family we got a sense that he was an amazing young man who died doing something he loved. Committed right to the end and serving a community that he loved. West Yellowstone, the Kramer family and the law enforcement community as a whole have lost a hero.
God bless and rest in peace.
As former serving officers from the United Kingdom and now serving officers in Canada we have rarely seen such an amazing out pouring of support for a fallen officer. You should all be proud. Many Thanks from Richard Wall 4160, Calgary Police Service

If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane,
I would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you back again.
No Farewell words were spoken.
No time to say “Goodbye.”
You were gone before I knew it
And only God know why.
My heart still aches with sadness,
And my secret tears still flow.
What it meant to Love You –
No one can ever know
But now I know you want me
To mourn for you no more;
TO remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you’ll never be forgotten.
I pledge to you today –
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you’ll always stay!!!

I went to college with Patrick at Dawson Community College. He was always on top of things and was even my RA for one year. Helped me with many assignments we had in shared classes and was a very good man.

I was bagging ice the other day at the conoco. I started to cry. Memories flowed of the days last summer when you would come by to see me and help me bag 100+ bags of ice. Both of us laughing the whole time at how your day went or some joke you had to tell. There isn't a day that has gone by that being somewhere or doing something hasn't remind me of the time we were together. Patrick, I love you and miss you greatly!!!

Patrick, I never had the honor of meeting you in person. You left this world the same month as my teammate Dave Briese. I had the opportunity to met your family in D.C. at the National Memorial. Your parents and sisters seem like wonderful people and I could tell that they really cared for you, which is a testament to how you lived your life. You daughter is a very special girl and will forever hold a place in my heart. Watching and holding her at the memorial is something that is forever burned into my memory. May your service and sacrifice never be forgotten.

I went to the MLEA with Pat (122). Pat was a very strong individual and I looked up to many of his qualities. I'm proud to say that he was also a partner of mine during some of our scenarios and he saved me a speech from TO Lange a few times. Pat, you will be missed and I know you served your community and country well. We will take your watch from here. 721

Hey Pat! Brett showed me this website the other day. Sorry I couldn't make it to with everyone when they laid you down. It seems like yesterday you were my dorm RA and Cassie and I were trying to keep you from finding our cat. I'm still working at the PD dispatching. I was working when I learned that you'd moved on. Talk about being totally floored. Well I better go for now. Talk to you later. Also could you please keep an eye on my guys and keep them safe? Thanks.

Pat, I will have you in my thoughts as we attend the Montana Law Enforcement memorial in Bozeman. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends at this time as I know it is hard for them. I know that you have joined the elite as heroes and will keep us safe while we continue our tour of duty.

Pat and I went to the Academy together. I couldn't believe when I got the news. One less member of the "Preservice PD." Hearing that shook me to the core. I think about him often.
We've got your watch from here, Pat.

I met Pat in a DEA Class in August of 2006. Pat became a welcome distraction to the boredom of the two week class. I was shocked when I heard of Pat's death probably more so because he was so young and full of energy. Pat's death reinforces the fact that life is fragile and that one should cherish every minute as if it could be one's last.
God Bless Patrick, his family and his friends.

Patrick,
Sadie found this poem somewhere while she was in colorado, and it was really touching. I still cry to this day when I read it, but I thought I'd share it with everyone who looks at your reflections. Love and Miss you Much!
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path god has laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard his call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found the peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full,
I’ve savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Lift up your heart, and peace to thee.
God wanted me now;
He set me FREE.

Pat was like a brother to me and my husband. He always knew what to say and do to get us to laugh. He had the kinda of heart and personality you couldn't help but fall in love with. He is missed everyday and I know I can't wait till I see him again.
Be at peace Pat!!

"If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded." -- Maya Angelou
Aloha Police Officer Patrick Roy Kramer,
Thank you for your service and dedication to your community and your country. You and all officers that continue to lay your lives on the line and pay the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities and country safe, will NEVER be forgotten.
I personally pledge, (after one of Hawaii's own, Honolulu Police Officer Steve Favela, lost his life in the line of duty protecting our Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush), to become a continuum of the "ODMP Light". That light is in the form of an ODMP tribute.
People from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, religion, profession, education, and geographical location can share here a word or two on behalf of each and every fallen officer.
Every fallen officer is an hero. The ODMP serves as a place where that continuum of "LIGHT" can be seen through and within, the heart and soul of each and every person who honors our fallen heroes with a relection and/or tribute. As we say in Hawaii, "We are `Ohana. We are family".
May God comfort the family and loved ones who have lost their beloved Patrick. May God also comfort those who have lost a fellow officer and friend that can never be replaced in this lifetime.
I wish you peace and love beyond all understanding.
May you rest in peace Police Officer Patrick Roy Kramer.
Me Ke Aloha Pumehana. Amen.
**I pray all find comfort in this Hawaiian prayer I leave you.**
THE PEACE OF " I "
KA MALUHIA O KA "I"
Peace be with you, All My Peace,
O ka Maluhia no me oe, Ku'u Maluhia a pau loa,
The Peace that is " I ", the Peace that is "I am".
Ka Maluhia o ka "I", owau no ka Maluhia,
The Peace for always, now and forever and evermore.
Ka Maluhia no na wa a pau, no ke'ia wa a mau a mau loa aku.
My Peace " I " give to you, My Peace " I " leave with you,
Ha'awi aku wau I ku'u Maluhia ia oe, waiho aku wau I ku'u Maluhia me oe,
Not the world's Peace, but, only My Peace,
The Peace of " I ".
