To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Picagli, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

Your life here on earth is done
The day you passed away a new life begun
Look down on your family, friends and fellow officers from heaven above
Those that loved you----those that you loved
With pain in our hearts, we bid you farewell
You've gone home to your MAKER and there you will dwell
Our day will come, though we know not when
Your family, friends and fellow officers will be together again.
Rest In Peace

My deepest sympathy to the Picagli family for their loss. There are no words I can offer to help with your grief except that Dan is a true hero and heroes never die. He will always be remembered by those that love him and the Blue Family. Keep his memory alive by telling others about him and also search out his friends to tell you stories that can be passed on. Dan, keep watch over your loved ones as they jounrey through life, also keep watch over those still out on patrol watching over the Thin Blue Line.

I was born and raised in New Haven. My brothers and I all attended elementary and middle schools while they finished at Hill House HS. After reading Ofc. Picagli's involvement in organized youth athletic leagues, it reminded me of my participation as a 14 yr old playing for the Pop Warner New Haven Ravens Football team. So it was with especially heavy heart that I read today that a New Haven Police Officer has lost his life in the line of duty. A protector of the City and a active participate in young people's lives saddens me.
My deepest and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Police Officer Dan Picagli and to the entire New Haven Police Department. As we here in San Francisco have loss 3 officers in the past 2 years, we know and grieve for our losses.
Thank you Ofc. Picagli for your years of dedicated service and ulitimate sacrafice to the people of New Haven. God Bless the Dan Picagli and his family.
