Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Victor Reynolds
THERE ARE NOT TO MANY DAYS THAT YOU ARE NOT IN MY THOUGHTS. EACH TIME I GO DOWN THE HALLWAY I LOOK UP AND SEE YOUR PICTURE WITH THAT GREAT SMILE YOU HAVE ON YOUR FACE. YOU HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR THIS JOB AND A DESIRE TO MAKE OUR CITIZENS AND COUNTY A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE. EVERY TIME I TRAVEL DOWN HIGHWAY 64 I ALWAYSD LOOK OVER AT THE CEMETARY AND KNOW YOU ARE LOOKING DOWN ON US ALL, WITH YOUR WINGS SPREAD OUT KEEPING US SAFE. I WILL ALWAYS WONDER IF YOU WOULD STILL BE WITH US HAD I CALLED IT A LITTLE DIFFERENT. MOST SAY YOU WOULD BE TRYING TO GET THERE AS FAST AND AS SAFELY AS YOU COULD TO RENDER AIDE FOR THOSE IN NEED.
LOOKING FOWARD TO THE DAY WE SEE ONE ANOTHER AGAIN.

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones on this day. Continue to keep watch over all of your loved ones and close friends that are still out on patrol. You have not been forgotten nor will those that love you dearly ever let that happen.

Jeremy,
This is truly a sad day for me. The last time I heard from you, you were in the service. You sent me a letter and enclosed a picture. I believe that was in 1996! I still have them both. I regret loosing touch with family but I think you know that my family is always in my heart.
I see the same thing everywhere and I still just can't understand why the good ones are the ones we loose first. But, I'd like to think of it as . . . the "good ones" are preparing the way for the rest of us.
You are and will be missed. I'm sure by now Mom has chased you down and you two are laughing together once again so . . . since you are together, I want you both to know that I love you both very much and although your presence on this earth is missed every day you are always present in my memories, in my thoughts and in my heart.
With Thoughts of You,

Dear sweet cousin. Where has the time gone since you were taken from us too early. It's funny, I still can't get it through my head, and heart, that I won't ever again answer my phone and hear your voice saying you are in town and want to come over and see me and the kids. I still remember when Kate was a baby and you visited and ate dinner with us. Seeing you clean up all the spagetti that Kate through on the floor is etched in my mind forever!!
I loved you so much and I know now that you are with your precious mom, she was taken too early too.
I know your dad misses both of you so much and I pray for him alot that he can get through this intact.
I hope that you are enjoying birthday celebrations in heaven for Jesus, but I wish you were here with us....selfish huh?? It's been a while since I have visited this site because when I see your smiling face I get sad for the rest of the day.
I love you and miss you very much sweet cousin.
Give a hug to your mom and Aunt Nancy and Uncle Klein.

Dearest Jeremy,
Well Tim and I finally got married on December 1, 2007. We had a memory candle there that your Dad lighted it for us. Tim asked your Dad to stand up with him in your honor. Howard (he's dad) was the best man. Little Michelle was the maid of Honor. I also had a white rose on in my flowers in your memory.
We miss you very much and I know that you were there in spirit.
Love and Prayers to you.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
