To the family, friends, relatives and coworkers of Officer Langley-
Today, we are sadly reminded of the dangers that all university police share with their local counterparts. My hat is off to Officer Langley. You died an honorable death and made the ultimate sacrfice.
Your service will never be forgotten. Thank you for every minute that you dedicated to protecting and serving. Rest now, and look after the rest of us.
With the greatest respect,

I absolutley can say, I loved Robby as a friend, he was an awesome guy
I work for a security company that does security on the campus of ole miss, and he was always on the night shift when I was there, we would see him riding around, flashing that big goofy grin of his and he would always be willing to stop and talk for a few, no matter how busy he was
God Bless You Brother
We love you and will miss you man

After 30 years of law enforcement and Memorials for 8 Fellow officers that gave their lifes in that time, I know how hard it is!! I'm sorry for the loss of Robert and it should have never happen. As Officers we all know the risk, but it doesn't make it any easier. Prayers be with you all.

“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

Not only has the University of Mississippi Campus Police lost a good officer, the Nation has lost a great person. I am sadden to hear of this tragic sudden lost. I read about Officer Langley and for us to lose him at such a young age especially after his service to his community and our country it's really hard. The grief on his fellows officers will be great but they will carry on never forgetting this day.
To the family of Officer Robert Langley our prayers are with you. We have each of you in our heart and prayers. Thanks for sharing Robert with us during his short stay here on earth, now Robert will watch all of us from above.

Robert and the rest of the "Night Train",
I am so sorry that I wasn't there when I might have helped.
Lisa, there is only one word to describe your husband... HERO! I pray for you and your kids and hope to carry on the legacy that Robert left behind. You will never know the impact that Robert has had on me in the short time I got to work with him after he got home from Iraq. I was so proud of him and the progress he had made in getting Truus (K-9) certified. Robert brought out the best in all that worked with him, and it is not very often that you encounter someone that loves their job as Langley did.
Come what may, always remeber that God is in control and he knows what it is like to lose someone that you love. He alone can bear this heavy burden that we now carry, and as the Casting Crowns song says, "I will praise You in this storm!"
