Reflections for Officer Michael Leland Briggs

Mike,

It seems like yesterday that you were there. You went away from us way too soon and I miss you. They say I'm going to be okay, but I'm not going to. When I see your name in stone it hurts still.

"May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow. For the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Many times we've needed you, many times we've cried. We miss you, Mike."

Well you certainly were remembered well today in this City that honors you and remembers you so lovingly. The Manchester remembers web page had messages all day, and your personal web page created by your family had many memory's of you. Today in New Hampshire it was exactly the same day as the one that your passed away, typical of fall in New Hampshire. Vivid blue skies, vivid fall colors, cool morning and warm afternoon. I remember it so well. Although I never knew you, I knew of you and I was overwhelmed that this happened to you. Reading all of the comments on the web sites today shows that 8 years later you are alive in our hearts and memories. St. Michael who donated his organs so that many people could continue their lives, such an unselfish act, but from what I understand, that was typical of you.

Rest in Peace. The court has upheld the conviction and sentencing of the person who decided your life held no value. Justice has been served. Rest in Peace.

Mike, take care of Johnny for me and in his words, "What you do is important because you are exchanging a day of life for it". He is a "simple man" and touched so many lives like you did.

Miss you both so much.
