This is a tragic and extremely sad accident. I feel bad for these officers, their families, and the civilian motorist that was killed as well. I grew up in Ohio and have fond memories of Highway Patrol officers taking the time to speak with my friends and me when we were young kids. May those of you in the OSHP take comfort in knowing that your professionalism has made a good impression on those that you protect and serve.

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last

Trooper Holcomb, my sincerest regrets at your death. Car accidents happen, it’s a sad fact that, you as a Trooper know all too well. When it happens to family, it cannot be understood or accepted, even if that family member is part of the extended family in blue.
My heart and prayers go out to your wife and kids. This will be one of the most tragic events they will ever face, but I know you’ll be there, along side them to help them through it.

God Bless and Rest in Peace, Brother
