Dear Dale:
I didn't know you but had the unexpected pleasure of meeting your wife, Connie, and two sons at the memorial in Washington, DC. You would be proud of them. I really don't know why this happened - I lost my son last year too in an auto accident while on duty. The pain is sometimes unbearable. To your family I offer my sincere condolences.

Connie, I am so glad that your time in Washington D.C. was good for you and your boys. I was also very glad that we were able to see you and your group at the memorial wall. I read your son's tribute to his father and was very moved by his words; they were so insightful for such a young man. We will be coming down next weekend for the poker run and hog roast. I hope that it will be very successfull. I hope you are doing well now that are back. I know how hard it is to get back in the swing of things after going to DC. Take care.

Hey Dale.
You've been on my mind for the past couple of days. And I realize I never had a chance to tell you Thank You and I feel horrible for that. I honestly never thought I'd see the day where you wouldn't be here. It's like a bad dream that won't end. I must say you and Connie have raised some of the best young men. Tyler looks just like you. And Trent I think has your attitude, it seems like every time something happens in Gallia County they always refer back to you and Josh. Why can't they let us pick up the pieces and move on with it? You will always be on all of our minds along with our hearts. But it still hurts when someone brings it up. about 3 weeks ago I was out if town and I was standing in line at a gas stating and I was wearing my bracelet that Connie gave me, and this woman turns and looks down and asked me what it meant and if you were my dad and I said No then she asked why I was wearing it and I told her about the accident and what all had happen and how you were our inspiration and all of our hero and she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said she heard about that on the news when it happen and she never thought she'd meet someone who knew you or Josh. I honestly never thought I would have to explain something like that to someone. I guess where in Gallia Co. everyone knows and when they see you have the bracelet on or even a magnet on the back of your car, they already know. And there is no need to ask. Well I better go. I didn’t plan on this being so long... But Thank you!!
Thank You for risking your life for me and my family
Thank You for protecting us in Gallia County.
Thank You for your act of kindness
Thank You for making the choice of being a cop and putting your life on the line for others.
Thank You for always making sure the athletes at River Valley was always being treated right.
Thank You for being the Co Chair-man for "Quality Schools for Quality Kids".
Thank You for always caring about us students at River Valley.

Hey it's me
Well we made it home from Washington, what a trip ! It was such an emotional week over there.. You would just have been amazed at everything that the law enforcement do for the families in D.C.. It was very nice something that the Boys and I will never forget. It was really hard coming home I felt like we were leaving something over there. But I promised the boys that we would go back. The guys from the Highway Patrol were great to the boys and I .. We just hung out with them the entire time, and that was really nice. The boys really enjoyed it.I'm so glad that so many of our buddys from P-27 got to go...Even Captain and Misty got to go..
Well I've got to go for now, We love you very much and you know that .... Miss you every day.

Hey Dale,
The benefit Connie put on up at the school last week was really nice. I was glad that they let the boys play. that was real nice. I hope Connie and the boys have a safe trip to Washington D.C. We miss you Dale. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't say something about you. "You will always be in our hearts".

Hey Dale,
How are you? I hope you are doing well. Been thinking of you a lot lately. I met a retired state trooper a few weeks ago in Columbus and we have become friends. As soon as I met him, I thought, "Boy, he looks so much like Dale!" He's about your age, too. You would have liked, Russ. He's cool. We went fishing this weekend and had a blast.
I miss ya, Dale. I can't wait to get home so I can see the sign up on Jackson Pike. That will be tough to see. I miss you. I think of you always and I hope I make you proud as I continue to protect the public. I know you're watching over all of us. You were the best! You will always have all of my respect and I will always work to honor your memory. You're a part of my history, you taught me what it meant to be in public service, how could I forget that? I am who I am today, because I knew you, Dale. I hope I live my life so that when I get to see you again, you can pat me on the shoulder and say with your casual smile, "You did good, kid. You did real good." I love you, Dale. I thank God for you.

I knew Dale for a long time, since I was a little kid, through my Dad who is a retired State Trooper. Dale always had a smile on his face and always loved being a State Trooper. He will be missed, but I will never forget him. Keep watching over us, Dale, you had a great impact on my life.

When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did that day
while thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you loved me
as much as I love you
and each time that you think of me
I know you'll miss me too.
But tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand
that an Angel came and called my name
and took me by the hand.
I promise no tomorrow
But today will always last,
and since each day is the same way
there's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart
for everytime you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart....
Thinking of you Connie,Tyler & Trent today and always and wishing you all the best.... Know that Dale is with you guys on everything you do, you three are very strong and loved by so many people.
