Reflections for Police Officer Thomas Alan Cook
tom,
Your little guy turned 11. I can't believe it how time has flown with him. He had a great birthday. His favorite dinner steak and shrimp. Black forest cake for dessert. He asked for clothes for the first time. Yes hes getting older. i had to buy him a tv. The one he had was yours from college. It was showing it's age. He didn't go to sleep until midnight. He wanted to enjoy every minute of his day. It was sad singing happy birthday to him with out you there! I know you were watching from above. Please continue to give us strength with all things at court. The Metra guys have been there for me. When I see their uniform it reminds me of you and I smile! We miss you!

To the cook family, I always check up to see if the authorities have caught the pathetic form in human skin that ripped Tom away from you. I was very happy to see that he was finally caught. It really brighten my day.
I pray and we send our best wishes to your family.
Stay strong, for you will have to go through some more tough times when the trial begins as we will have the same tough times when the murder trial starts for Erik. Take care and best wishes, Richard Morreira cousin of fallen Tucson Officer Erik Hite (EOW 6/2/2008)

Tom,
Tonight we are celebrating my birthday. Going out to eat with my mom and sister. This one is hard for me. I really wanted to throw you a 40th birthday party but we did not have the money nor did you want it. You just wanted to have a quiet celebration at home. Just like I chose to do this year. I miss you giving me a hard time telling me that now I'm in my 40's you can't say " ha ,ha you're not in the 3o's anymore" The kids, family and friends made it nice for me. But it just wasnt the same without you here. I miss you!
Love me

Dearest Son: 46 years ago your Dad and I were a happy couple, expecting you on the 20th. You were small but what a fighter - even according to the Doctor. Now the family will fight for you with all their might to see that Justice will be done. Forever in my heart. Your loving Mother

46 years ago today was my first memory as a child. I can still see it clear as day in my memory. Dad got down on his knee and told me that I had a baby brother. I ran and cryed. I wanted a sister so bad. But Tommy you were one of the greatest gifts given to me. I remember many nights sitting on the floor next to your crib and watching you sleep. You were my little brother and I was always trying to watch over you. But on that horrible night I wasnt able to. I guess it's your time to watch over us. Please make sometime for me little brother

Just feel like I had to write. The recent news has made everyone thankful of the long hours of work that have gone into finding these people. We know you were standing beside these fellow officers guiding them in the right path. Although our sorrow will never end this closure does bring some small comfort to those who still think and love you.

Rest in Peace Now My Brother, Justice may be slow but it is coming to the two that took you from your family. I pray that this gives your wife and children some peace knowing that they are off the streets and about to face Justice for what they have done.

Tom,
They're making the announcement today about formal murder charges against the person the SSMCTF thinks pulled the trigger. The wheels of justice moved pretty slow but they moved in the right direction.
God bless you Pam and kids.
