Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Robert Earl Green

Robbie,
I've known you since you were born and I always knew that you were very special, although I never liked the idea of you being a police officer, being at your funeral yesterday I understand why that it what you had to do. You Charlie and Jason are the brothers I never had and no words can describe how much you will be missed!!!! I know Grandma and my dad are with you and that makes me feel somewhat better. You were so good with kids, Jessica and Alex consider you their "hero" but then again we all do! Don't worry about Chaytor he will be loved and taken care of and we will let him know what a SPECIAL FATHER he had!! We will take care of your mom,dad and the rest of your family too.
It will be hard but we know we will be with you again. Until then I love you!

Robbie,

What a hard few days this has been--I'm still in shock and can't believe that you're really gone. My heart is just breaking for you and your family. I love you and your family so much. It's been tough because I feel so close to all of them, but yet so far away. Your family is one in a million and I know they'll get each other through this and I know they'll be there for Karen and Chayter. And I know all of them will make sure he knows what a great guy his dad was . . . you were the best.

Hey bro. This has been the most difficult four days of my life. Mom,Dad and Jason are getting better. I think I got them thru everything being strong for them. I know you would have done it for me if I lying where you are now.I AM GOING TO NEED THEM when this horrible BOMB hits me. You know, me & you could handle alot and we have been thru alot together.I know you were looking down on everything yesterday and didn't want any of it.(Thanks for telling GOD you were in charge of this celebratoin and keeping the rain & storms away until everyone was home safely.)That was just like you, but don't put your hand in gods face like that again.I promise you that Chaytor will not go thru life without a father figure, and he will be taught the same values and love for life that were instilled in us. If he chooses sports (especially baseball) you know I'm there, me and you have already talked about that , and the first practice without you there is going to be the hardest. If its football I already got the coaches lined up for him. Bro thanks so much for following in my footsteps and doing stuff with me thru life and it was an HONOR to walk you the last steps down that hallway. I LOVE YOU, AND YOUR WIFE AND SON WILL ALWAYS BE LOOKED AFTER, I promise.

No amount of words from any of us can ease your grief and suffering at the lost of your husband, Father, and bother officer. But remain strong in your faith and know god as a plan for us all. Take comforted in knowing you will see Robbie again as we walk the streets of heaven. To the family of Deputy Robbie Green I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. All the law enforcement community across the country feels you’re lost as well, we to have lost a bother in the fight. So it’s with a heavy heart we send our deepest sympathy to your family and the Powhatan County Sheriff's Office. Rest in peace Robbie job well done, you may be gone but know you will never be forgotten.

Hey Robbie I just don't know where to start or the proper way to say good-bye to you man. You will always be my brother, Tiffany's brother, and Ty's uncle. Ty loved to laugh at all your goofy faces and not many people can get a laugh from him as you know. I will truly miss being able to call on you for all of my stupid little questions about life that only I could ask my brother. I am not sure how to make it through tomorrow when all of this mess starts to become real in place of this unbelievable nightmare. I will always cherish and honor the time that I was privlaged to spend with you. I am so proud to have a brother that cared more about all other things in life than your own self. You were the greatest father and friend to your son that any little boy could ever have and that is what hurts the most. You have touched so many lives in our community, but most of all you have touched our family in so many ways. The void that is left is so big that it is hard to think about any get togethers or special family times with out you. Our lives will never be the same. YOU made a difference to us Robbie, and for that you will always be remembered. I promise to you that your son Chaytor and your wife Karen will always feel your love and strength through us brother. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER!

Dear, sweet, Karen,
You are in your 2nd year of teaching my son Austin. We are so terribly shocked at this horrible tragedy. I can't stop thinking about you and your little boy, and we are continually praying for you both. How we wish we could somehow take this pain away from you. Austin is so afraid you won't return to Midlo High School, but I think you'll be back. You have students, parents, and teachers that love you and are praying for you. Please let us know if you need a babysitter, a meal, or a friend. Robbie is under God's care in Heaven, asking you not to worry about him. He and God's angels will protect you and your little boy. We will continue to pray for your heart to heal.
In God's love,
Linda and Austin Mowry, & family
