Thank you for the service that you gave for your country, and the citizens of Maryland. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten, you are a true hero. Your family will miss you everyday of the week and year, there is not much that anyone can say at this time or any time that will help or ease your pain. Just know there are a lot of people in the same boat, paddling down that same river without paddles, but God is guiding our way. I know that he is carrying me on his back and has been since that dredful day.
Corporal Krauss look Clint up for me tell him I miss him everyday and love him so much. And watch over everyone down here, I have my blue candles in my window for all you guys that have been killed in the line of duty. It will glow as long as I'm breathing, so you will be remembered in Fort Walton Beach. Thank you for your sacrifice, and I will remember your family in my prayers.

When I first met you in 1993, I was fresh out of the academy and you were a veteran of the midnight shift. While you were out there arresting drunks and dealing with all the other crazy things that happen during 11-7, I was hoping to make it through my first week. Over the next 6 years, I got to know you not just as a co-worker, but as a friend.
I remember visiting you at Shock Trauma shortly after your crash. I spoke with the attending doctor who told me everything you went through in surgery and what a long road to recovery that you would have. You were tough. You survived something that would have killed 99 out of a 100 other people. You were a walking example of the old saying, "that which doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger." Death took a holiday that day and we were grateful.
Your watch may have ended, but your memory will always remain. Rest in peace.

Do not seek death. Death will find you.
But seek the road which makes death a fulfillment.

MdTA PD
