Reflections for Police Officer Jonathan James "AJ" Schroeder

To the family of Officer Shroeder, I know all too well the pain you are experiencing right now and sadly the pain that will continue in the coming days, weeks and months. I also know that there is a community from across this statee and beyond that is wrapping its arms around you with love and support. I made a home in Cleveland for a few years after my husband died and feel as if it is my second home. I am confident that the Cleveland community will give you all the support they can. None of these words will be able to take away your pain of your loss, but I hope that one day these words will bring you sense of comfort. Just know that you are not alone and never will be.

Assistant Prosecuting Atty, Franklin County

As the daughter of a 48-year veteran of CPD, as well as the mother of a young officer, I grieve as if I have lost one of my own. This is a tremendous blow to all of us in the greater Cleveland community. Those of us in the awesome family of law enforcement take this loss very personally. As I pray for the family of A.J., I hear the Word of the Lord in my spirit, as He has welcomed A.J. to his eternal home, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord." Peace to all those left behind.

God Bless Your Family. As you have we to have recently lost a wonderful man to the elements of the job, Trooper Young was brave and his courage was great as officer schroeder was i am sure. My prayers go out to the family, and his wife and young child. I to have two young children and pray every time my husband geos out on the streets of this country but he would not have it any other way he takes pride in heping others and know that I believe that all officers feel the same way. Know that he will be riding shotgun with you all and he will do his very best to protect you. Just think how much God needed him. And remember to always have pride in what he did, he was!!

Our hearts hurt: knowing we will never again see your smiling face, your wave from your truck, and mostly, knowing you were taken from your loving wife and new son. We, along with your former Flamingo Avenue neighbors, have been honoring your life the past two days by remembering the times you spent with us.. making us laugh till we cried.. sharing yourself with us and just being an overall great friend and neighbor. WE WILL MISS YOU DEARLY. You will be in hearts and thoughts daily. May you rest in peace, Jon, and may you watch over us from above and protect us as you did here on Earth.

My heart aches for you wife, child, and family, for law enforcement, and this city. Your integrity and dependability could not be questioned. You were never jaded. You were always fair. You helped everyone without a second thought. You always smiled.

You touched so many lives on both sides of the law. You were too good, and too young, to be taken so soon.

I know you will be working overtime watching over your wife, son, family, and friends. Know that we will be doing our part down here.

In the marathon of life, you qualified for heaven. May you run many peaceful miles. You will never be forgotten.

I check this website often and am heartbroken with every senseless death. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. I shed tears all day for all the fallen officers. My son, Joseph Corr, was gunned down in Feb.06 during a robbery in New Hartford New York. He was 30 years old and left his wife and 1 year old daughter. May you have the strength and courage to take one day at a time. God Bless you all. Kathy Corr (mother of Joseph D. Corr EOW 2/27/06 New Hartford Police Dept.

How does one express the shock and grief of such a tragic loss. I Find it difficult to express in words. These things should not happen, young heroes such as Jonathan should live long lifes yet it seems to happen every day. Such a high price some pay for our freedoms, thank you for your courage. May your friends and family find peace in knowing that everyone in this country honors Jonathan. Rest in peace Brother Jonathan, you are a true hero and will never be forgotten for your service and courage.

AJ,
My friend, co-worker, and fellow Police Recruit from CPD Academy #114, you will be missed. I'am glad I got to know such a hard working person who was dedicated to his job just as much as his family. You gave 110% to the citizens of Cleveland, and I'am honored that I was able to work with you on several occasions when we were on second shift together. I will miss your sense of humor and most importantly YOUR SMILE. REST IN PEACE BROTHER.....
